Hi everyone,

I'm planning to produce fitness related video on Youtube and looking for videographer. I would like to get feedbacks from you on how to make the best out of this process.

Notes:
- Fitness related Video
- Personal training and nutrition video
- Shoot and Edit the video
- Long term basic

Questions:
1) Currently thinking of part time whereby the videographer come in 1-2 time a week for shooting. As the project grow we can look into a more full time daily shooting. Also to get to know the videographer's style. For part time, are final year student a good option? How is the reliability?

2) How does a full time videographer work in this situation?

3) What is a price range for a part time and full time videographer?

4) Have any of you done or doing specifically for Youtube? What are your advice?

5) Any other areas I should consider?

Thank you.

P/S: The project is in Kajang, if there anyone interested please send me a PM.

If you are just starting out as a youtuber, I don't suggest you to hire someone solely for it.

The costs of making videos will stack up really fast and you are not going to earn enough in the near future to pay them.

As for the price range, it can be really cheap or really expensive depending on your requirement and also the quality of the videographer.

I would say rm100-200 per video is the least you should pay for someone to shoot a basic video for you, anything lesser than that you should just avoid. At this price range, all you are getting is a "usable" video without any fancy lighting/editing/music/cinematography. Factors those in and the price will be 4x or even 10x.

Generally speaking, you get what you pay when it comes to photography/videography.

Thanks buddy for the advice. I see it as an investment to put myself out there and build my brandname together.

Your thoughts and ideas on reaching out to student who are in the final year of their study in this field?

If you're just starting, maybe just film it yourself 1st? Once you get to monetize, then start to hire videographers.

my advice, get a decent camera, or use ur mobile phone
get a good FHD (1080p) video or even 4k

then edit using simple software like the free ones online

for good video:
- good lighting; if you're doing it at home then focus some light on to ur face/body
- stable footage; use tripod for this
- editing; simple editing. use those free ones: Blender, Shotcut, Openshot, because there a lot of tutorials online and youtube

dont worry; after you shot urself then u can get urself familiar to "talking to the camera" first
do your video with timeline and script if possible.

cheers!
