 Did I Just Buy 'Fake' Steak?, Mystery of the steak....

1. Bought two cuts of sirloin.

2. Sous vide like normal (hence the grey colour; hadn't seared it).

3. After opening the bag, I realised that a bit of steak came loose.

4. Upon closer inspection, the bottom bit turned out to be (what I can assume is) minced beef wrapped in plastic that resembled connective tissue when frozen.

5. Went back to supplier, who said that it's normal. WTH?!


Have any of you experienced this before?

lol they probably did not remove tat part in the first place.. maybe is part of the packaging.. sirloin suppose to have 1 side with fat only

I doubt they're the moisture pads. They were made to took like part of the steak when frozen. It was stuffed with mince meat.

The fat mark very weird not natural one, i used to work at beef factory at nz
