Hi all !

As a first time car owner ( year 2018 ) I'd love how much others have spent on fixing your car as well

here's mine

it's a 2011

Kia Forte 1.6 with 185,000km clocked in.

Been driving this baby for 9 months clocking in 23,000km in the meantime

Tyres RM1750 , bought 7 new tyres last year as I had 3 flat tyres , Keep finding weird metal chunks in my tyres hence

2nd Hand Rims RM300

Paintjob RM850 , bang into a wall when I was being careless

Spark Plug RM450

Black oil RM600

Transmission Fluid RM200 ?

Coolant RM100 ?

Air filter and AC filter RM 200 , bought and changed myself

Totals up to RM4450 for 2019 to fix up my car.

Apart from the tyres, rim and paint job (unscheduled), Others are not considered as fixing.. Just a scheduled maintenance costs.

Last year bought a 2008 Swift Sport for my son. Already spent like over 7k on it but mostly upgrade/mods (better tires and rims, upgrade brake system, remap, exhaust, tinting, better osram bulbs) while real repairs were probably just under 2k of that 7k amount (some engine leaks, absorbers & mountings, stabilizer links, belt, all fluid change, filters).

Then on my Mark X spent maybe up to 3.7k but 2.8k of that amount was for install LSD and change to shorter 4.6 final gear. Then around rm250 to touch up the rims from curb rashes, some rm600+ to service (carbon clean, oil change).

Finally on my wife's Livina, just replace absorbers with used Kayaba RS and some engine and ATF oil change, probably total less than rm600.

Once suspension and absorber is down maybe Ftuned suspension system but this one I will ask in ZTH before come to a decision bec I want comfort 60 percent. Need feedback

as for myself

QUOTE(mingyuyu @ Dec 7 2018, 01:59 PM)
just keep all receipts, should be good enough.

Bought a used car at Jan, so far:
1) change brake pads/ radiator hoses/ waterpump - rm600
2) 4 new 195/55/15 Ecopia - rm700
3) 4 new absorber/ mounting/ link/ bush + alignment - rm980
4) fix knocking steering rack (kena con job) and fix leaking rocker cover gasket - rm380
5) change EO and filter - rm130
6) replaced headlight bulbs to OSRAM Nightbreaker - rm80
7) replaced headlight/rearlight for all 4 lights - rm250

shit i didnt know i spent over 3k until i compiled all of them. always tell myself i spent around 1.5k only  bangwall.gif

Coming maintenance, should be doing it in the coming few weeks:
1) clean throttle body (looks dirty to me and pedal response kinda weak at low speed)
2) change CVT oil (gearbox jerks sometimes so im guessing something wrong with oil)
3) change engine mount (engine shakes quite a bit a idle)
4) fix funny noise as the car is in gear and not moving (im suspecting some belt/bearing)
*
For 2019:

1) Cleaned both throttle body and IACV by myself so spent rm0 on it
2) Changed CVT oil and spent rm120 on it

Oh wow, how did you found out?
And why 20k required? Missed some important servicing from the tampering?

You bought recon right? For recon car, can we ask mechanic to check the actual mileage before buying it? It is crazy that it has been tampered for almost 100K.
