Should I buy the Honda Civic 1.6 TCP or wait for the release of the new 2019 Mazda 3?

Any other recommendation for c-segment cars besides the above?

New Mazda 3 looks really sharp. I'd wait for the Mazda. That said, I have heard that it won't be cheap.

Not too concerned about space. Mazda has always been about the driver.

As for the torsion beam, pretty sure the car still handles well but no harm waiting for more reviews to be available before deciding.

I'd wait for the Toyota Corolla to be launched on the TNGA platform.

However if it is just between these 2 then I'd wait for the Mazda.

I will pick Mazda 3 since new fourth generation will lasts for at least 5 years until next production kick in. Estimated more than 140k++ for CBU unit, CKD maybe another year...

The previous CBU unit is RM 139k back in 2014 and the new generation would be more expensive, so can start saving now~

If you can wait, suggest that you wait till both the facelifted civic and new mazda3 get launched. You try out both to find out which suits you better. Both have their respective pro and con, just need to decide which you prefer.

To be honest, both cars are decent in their own right (although malaysian market by default will err more towards honda regardless).

Read the autocar uk website review on the new mazda3 (with the current engine) :
https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/mazda/...v-g-2019-review

Mazda made torsion beam surprisingly good.

Depends on what you want.

Comfy, the Toyota would the best. I drove the CHR (which shares the platform), it is a damn good platform.

Sporty, the Mazda is the sportiest. But suffers from road noise. The GVC version is really good.

Civic, is the largest. Tons of leg room but the handling is pretty poor and its CVT gearbox is rubbish
