Now in order to use online banking, most banks require us to have an ATM card/Debit card to register online banking.
Most banks charge RM8 - RM12 for an ATM/Debit card.
If we use 3 banks's online banking, we will be charged at least RM 24 per year.

Can anybody share how to use online banking for no charge?

Affin Bank:
I know Affin bank provides free internet banking that does not require to have an ATM/Debit card.
Request a free virtual card (paper quality) from Affin counter will do it. Very simple

May Bank:
Saving account
No annual fee for ATM/Debit card
Can use CIMBClick internet banking
Max 4 withdrawals per month

CIMB Bank
Saving account
So far no annual fee for ATM/Debit card
Can use internet banking
Max 8 ATM withdrawals, 9th withdrawal will charge RM 0.50
Max 6 OTC withdrawals, 7th withdrawal will charge RM 5.00

AM Bank
Saving account
Charge RM 8 per year for ATM/Debit card

Bank Rakyat
Saving account
Charge RM 8 per year for ATM/Debit card

RHB Bank
Saving account
Charge RM 8 per year for ATM/Debit card

Bank Muamalat
Saving account
Charge RM 12 per year for ATM/Debit card

Bank Islam
Saving account
Charge RM 8 per year for ATM/Debit card

I heard Public bank provides internet banking without ATM/Debit card..?

Yes free basic account grants you access to their Internet banking. Don't even need to pay a Sen. All my bank account l free one. Time for me to pay bank to use their bank account is long gone. I don't intend to give banks free money even if is RM8+/year.

As mentioned, I moved on from FD already. Withdraw out 100% of my FD and dump them into amanah saham fixed price fund. No need to go hunting for FD promos every year. No point put in FD when amanah saham is doing a better job. I need no priority banking.
Min 6%p.a.
Capital more or less protected as you cannot sell below RM1/unit.
Buying can be done online.

Apa lagi you mau ? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif The only magical product from Malaysia govt.

So tell me why should I go for FD? brows.gif brows.gif

All banks should have basic saving account with limited withdrawal per month, and no annual free.

But if want debit card, will charge RM 8
And if want Internet banking, must have debit card. (Except Affin bank which give virtual debit card)

Affin will give a credit card size paper quality virtual card for free, this virtual card is not a debit card nor ATM card.
After you register Affin online banking with this virtual card, you can tear off this virtual card and throw it to trash can.
