Hi guys, just wanna ur opinion,is the twin lensce package cheap or just buy the standard package more value for money...im thinking get the alpha for my 1st DSLR coz can pay 0% installment with Maybank...what u guys think notworthy.gif

*is it really 0%???this my 1st time pay with maybank/bank account hmm.gif
*
Any particular reason why you're choosing Sony @ over other brands?

Or it's really cause of the installment plan?

huhuhu.... it seems that A200 is basically the same as A100 with minor tweaks (ISO3200) and some facelift. but the most tempting is the battery grip support.

live view is slow and for noobs. real man use viewfinder. if cannot find right angle use angle finder
*
Well, IMHO it will have its uses at certain times. One extra feature that has benefits won't hurt anyone. Maybe you. laugh.gif

Let it be for noobs or pro. thumbup.gif

I read that the A200 will automatically AF as you bring the camera close to your eye. pretty cool.

However, some shocking findings.

user posted imageuser posted image
A700 on the left, A100 on the right.

Wow, looks like A100 picture quality beats the A700 hands down http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Sony_Alp...700/noise.shtml

Isnt A100 oso autofocus when camera close to our eyes?
*
Sorry for my ignorance. Never realized that.

QUOTE(soulfly @ Jan 9 2008, 11:18 PM)
it has been like that since A100

and dude, the link you posted was from a700 review... and i have not seen any direct comparison of iso performance between a100 and a200 in any online review yet.
*
Ooops, wrong info.

But it is still surprising that A100 photos look much better than a A700.

From the leaflet.

calvin_gsc: It will also turn off the LCD, which the Canon 400D copied. The Eye-Start Continuous AF has been around since the Minolta film SLRs and have appeared in every Sony dSLR.

Unless that means you've never picked up an A100 and went "WHOA! It focused by itself!"
*
I tried my friend's A100 but probably he turned off that feature.

Thanks for the photo.
ISO 400 is having better quality than my S3's ISO 80. I see no jpeg artifacts.

I think most DSLR iso control would be better than a Canon S3.

The only competitor that comes close is the Fujifilm FinePix f31d.

just checked...the Alpha 300 and Alpha 350 already officially announced.. the leaked specs are correct, the Alpha 300 got 10.2 mpx just like the alpha 200 and the Alpha 350 got 14.2 mpx..

both got live view but the Alpha 300 is faster at 3 fps while the Alpha 350 is at 2.5fps..maybe due to the higher mpx i guess..

anyhow, price would be USD800 for Alpha 300 with lens and also the same for Alpha 350 body only shipping in April and March respectively..

really good news indeed for me i would say.. and since it's around USD 800, i think the price for the Alpha 300 here should be around RM2.2k since the Alpha 200 with twin lens kit is selling for USD 899 in the states but just RM2.4k here smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

the a350 is listed in the Sony UK site already.

http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProductCate...DSS+Digital+SLR

And both a300 and a350 is official

Key points: No high end DLSR announced today, but a little more detail: It's going to be a full frame 24.6MP CMOS model with Super Steady Shot stabilization, and it's coming this year.
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0801/08013109sonypma.asp

"coming this year" would probably mean 23.-28.09.2008 during Photokina 2008 in Colonge, Germany.

It's gonna be pretty sweet if they'd put the new swivel lcd to the alpha high end FF dslr.

Dude, although I donno the problem.

Never get heated up by people who say XXX camera not good vs XXX camera. Some people just work better or enjoy using certain cameras and suit their style.

No point to argue or to compare.

I personally don't hate any brand. About Alpha A100, I said that the picture quality @ ISO 400 and above sark hard. There's no such thing as "I used A100 before and that made me angry".

Now stop crying out loud like a little girl here. Go play somewhere else if you choose to post more posts like this. This is not a place for you to whine like a little girl.
*
Well if 9/10 complains I'd believe it's bad but if 1/10, I'd think twice.

My friend is pretty happy with his Alpha 100 when used at ISO800.

But it's very subjective to evaluate the quality of a photo. Diff people will have different perspective.

This thread is for us to discuss about our stuff. If somebody want to talk about bashing Sony, get a new thread. I don't recall anybody bashing a D40x because it does not have an AF motor in the D40/D40x thread even a lot of people argue about it.
*
Dude, I don't think he is bashing, he is just sharing his experience.

Diff people has diff experience with this camera.

For example, some people not happy with Nikon D80 then switch to Canon 40D,

Everycam also not perfect unfortunately.

But it is a lil extremist to be calling other users enemy though.
