You observe those tribes that is cut off from civilization. They seem to be aware there is a higher power, there is ALLAH. They raise their hands and look to the sky, they scream and shout at the stars, they dance and they jump around making noises.

What difference between me and those tribes if i don't have the QURAN?

From the phrase bi-smi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm, "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful." we know that Allah is Gracious and Allah is Merciful.

From the Quran, i know that Allah does not require us to build pyramids and then tear out the still beating hearts of captured enemies as offering, like what the Aztecs were doing.

Without a messenger, humanity will be lost, we would be performing human sacrifices, praying to anything and everything like the Taoists, worshipping demons and other shit like that.

TS,

I've read all 60+ pages and I would like to say thank you for telling us your side of the story.
And welcome to Islam. It will give you inner peace.

Also you've said something about not getting too obsessed with phones and social media.
I can related to that since I quit all of them including Whatsapp.

And my life is pretty much exposed with good and bad people so I can related very well on the things you've said, especially the drug/crime life
I can deduce from your story that you are in for drug related charges but on minor role in distributing. I may be wrong.

Anyway, my question here,
do you know any Sarawakian inside that is on drug related charges?
Because I have a few friends that is inside during your time in Sg Buloh.

Wa alaykumu s-salāmu wa-raḥmatu -llāhi wa-barakātuh.

My awakening, my paradigm shift, is not an instant overnight thing. it happened over several events.

First was being locked up. I was a very very angry and hateful person. I was angry for over a year while locked up. It was during the last few months that i begin to self reflect on my life.

All the drugs and violence was my way of coping with life.

Towards the end of my sungai buloh hotel retreat, an Algerian man came in, and he spoke very good English, which was my first language.

His favourite conversation topic was Islam, and the more i knew about Islam, the more i realized that Islam is the truth. Islam is the Way.

And all the Muslims i met, they are generally very nice people and very well adjusted in life.

I want to be someone who brought positivity to this world when i leave it. I don't want to be angry and hateful and toxic until i am old.

Problem is, i was born into chaos and violence.
3 or 4 years old, first memory was my parents being violent to each other. Dad left when i was 5. Mom left when i was 6.
Sat beside a friend in kindergarden. We would eventually join triad together.
I am not implicating myself in any crimes. All i am saying that i read it in a book or magazine somewhere, back then it was a more violent time, and machete were commonly used, limbs chopped off was not uncommon, and rivals were killed in territory disputes.
Introduced to alcohol and drugs in sekolah menengah.
Moving away from this kinda life, it won't be easy. i cannot do it with my strength alone. Allah is the only one that can save me from this life.
It has not been easy. Very difficult.
Even simple things like waking up and doing Solat, which is like the most basic thing, i cannot do properly. I was not trained from young.

But Islam is the Way.

Second paradigm shift was when my grandma died.

My grandma raised me in lieu of my parents.

She was in the hospital. She was lying down on her deathbed.

She said "Actually, WD is a good boy, please take of him".

She used the word "actually" because she was trying to convince people. Even she knows that the general consensus is that i was an asshole.

I felt so dirty. I felt like shit.

It's like your favorite teacher told the entire class "Hey class he/she did really well in the exam"

But then you knew that you handed in a blank exam paper.

Back then I was toxic to everyone around me, a real scoundrel.

I told my grandma i will bring her out for dinner once she get better.

She passed away the same night i said that.

No outside time for sungai buloh. if you want to have yard time, you have to apply to be transferred to Kajang. There got kawat and yard time.

What i like about prison is the interesting people u can meet. the downside is that you are locked up and the prison is dirty and smelly and there is no water and electricty most of the time.

No i would prefer never to go back.

only people who doing long term, gets a bed. a thin latex bed u can roll up. the latex bed is ok for me. but i am naturally thin. a bigger sized person will feel the concrete floor more
i sleep well.

sometimes the wardens arrange a high stakes football match and selects a player each from different rooms. We send out our best guy because winners get strawberry flavor biscuits and other foodstuff.

We can't watch from the cellrooms so the rooms cheer when they see their champion enter the block holding a strawberry flavor biscuit.

We had a guy from Nigeria. Damm, that big dicked nigga can really play soccer. He constantly reminds me that i can choose any of his sisters if i go to Nigeria. Sometimes i wonder how his sisters look like.

almost everyone in prison, coughs.

my theory is that it is a mild infection due to the environment, or maybe the water. i dunno.

i name it....the prison cough.

That's tuberculosis you might have been exposed to.

But since the incubation period for TB is very long, the symptoms won't appear so soon.

But it's something you should be wary of.

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/...50518111103.htm

Overall, they found that 88.8% of all prisoners had been exposed to TB, which represents the first empiric data in this population.

The team has also found similar rates among prisoners in Pengkalan Chepa prison in Kelantan State, confirming a high rate of TB exposure among the incarcerated population of Malaysia. When infected prisoners are released back into society, they may spread the disease among their community and the general population, which may be one of the factors responsible for increasing rates of TB.
