Once again, Nagata-"smokey"-san has done again. This time his Tokyo Auto Salon ace was his v12 twin turbo Supra with totally wicked body-kit. From the publications I've read, the job was totally customized, particularly the engine bay to fit the twin turbo's, the mating of the Supra's 6 speed Getrag tranny to the Century's engine, new throttle body which dispensed the the electronic TB of the Century for 2 Pulsar N15 TB's, custom radiator's which are fitted at the back (Similiar to the Group B Audi Quattro). Any more info about the car and his other creations do share here

QUOTE(kev da man @ Jun 15 2007, 01:39 PM) so he's the one with the V12 supra. according to the interview in Banzai magazine, was about time as he was aiming to complete it before the Tokyo Auto Salon. Now that that's done, it's back to dyno and the goal is 1000whpbut its only 500+ bhp....and smokey's supras and skylines top up at 1200++ bhp.... probably he's done it for the smoothness of the engine |

QUOTE(Naka7a @ Jun 15 2007, 04:15 PM) Nope, it's too heavy and was meant for different purpose. Nagata's fav past time, doing the Wangan roundsQUOTE(kev da man @ Jun 15 2007, 05:25 PM) .................... Depends but at least it's something fresh and new and pushes the boundaries. VQ35DE R32, RB25 350Z, 3S-GTE and RB26DETT Supra's. All breaks boundaries of what can be done mechanically. I suspect this car would be nuts for doing the Midnight Shoutoku Runbut i would prefer the 6-cylinder engine instead, this V12 is going to output a lot of torque - making it very hard to drive |

QUOTE(kev da man @ Jun 15 2007, 07:38 PM) IF he dares bring it out again for the run And who says he daren't judging by the Option Video where he took it out for a "cruise" (God knows what he did behind the scenes). After all, he's got to maintain the title of the fastest among the tuners at all costs (Remember his 341 km/h run on the autobahn using the RB26DETT Supra?). And yeah, I won't be surprised if it does past 300km/h, the question is, can he break his current record of 341km/h?judging by the supra's cd values, he can hit 300km/h faster than what he did in the skyline QUOTE(the_catacombs @ Jun 15 2007, 08:46 PM) he admitted, before this v12 supra was built, his previous supra with rb26det was the fastest car he had..... You're right on that as he himself admitted priority was to get it up and running in time for Japan Auto Salon 2007. Now that's over, time for him to tinker underneath the hood like he suggested in the last scene of the Video Option segment where there was another v12 block disassembled. 1000bhp and tons of torque FTWthis v12 supra still in development stage i guess.... not fully modified yet... EDIT: Just for speculation reasons, do you think the new bumper if using the original 2JZ-GTE can accomodate a v-mount setup? Looks like it's possible judging by the space This post has been edited by almostthere: Jun 15 2007, 09:15 PM |

QUOTE(kev da man @ Jun 16 2007, 12:56 PM) lol that was totally cool of him to do that, but if he manages more than 900lb/ft of torque, this car can totally own the other supra. im guessing it could, due to the extra grunt a V12 engine has. No decent set of tyres are gonna be able to stand that sort of abuse for street usage man QUOTE BTW, the new bumper makes it look like an S2000 YEah, didn't notice that actually. V8 huh? hmmmm.....but HKS already did that for their Supra drag car which holds a few records now |
