thanks for the information.  thumbup.gif
actually wanted to run the casing at preferred 'spot', so the installer just run thru my casing.
it will be 3 walls need to go thru.. i will prepared the wall hole for the cable to run thru.. and its all in straight line  wink.gif

During my renovation time (2011), there no 3rd party fiber installer, and I wanted it conceal. So I put empty conduit inside I put cable puller, when TM installer came, they just connect to the end of the cable puller and pull the fiber in. Just make sure your conduit have no 90deg bending, 30deg bending are ok.

Anyone know if DIR-615 router support gigabit ethernet or not

I currently have this model, but I was recently turbo-ed to 500mbps. If wired connection can utilize it, then i wont be bothered to change.
*
From the spec is only 10/100. Unless TM have special version.

I read that too, I believe I have the 10/100, but never really knew what it meant. I guess it means 100mbps max transfer speed?

One year is over. I wonder what will happen if I request for my Ultimate to change to Ruby. Currently my bill is:
800Mbps 99 (329 discount 230)
Ultimate 60
RM159
*
And I am paying exactly the amount for 300mbps... sad.gif

What to do, it's TM. At least better than that Maxis guy who called me up to push his RM129 100Mbps. I save RM30, of course. While 800Mbps is fast, it's not so stable. Maxis 100Mbps is very stable. According to him.

Now feel like changing.

I hope they give me 300/100, or even 200/100 is good for me. 50mbps download not very good now. My sync to One Drive is now slow biggrin.gif

Anyway, the minister that enforce the speed upgrade did his job and I am still happy for it.

Bro, they have to climb the ceiling to pull the wire.
There are some risk involved.
They help you pull nicely into conceal pipe, considered cheap to pay RM 120 lo.
Treat like buying them a few teh tarik

Yes, and we sometime need to see beyond the amount of work need to be done, but more of the skill and quality of work. If the price are too high, DIY and will save the monies.

Let just hope TM will not allocate private IPv4 address to fiber users anytime soon.... nod.gif

GCN-NAT is very troublesome for end users.
*
There is possibility will move towards that, their backend/routing routing IP is now become private 10.x.x.x now. Ipv4 are already exhausted and tender price for ip4 block getting more expensive. May not happen in 3-6months, maybe in 1-2 years..

If still want to remain ipv4, another solution is ngrok

Perhaps during that time they will implement and differentiate their package between pro and lite. I still hope it will maintain public IP otherwise CCTV monitoring and home FTP is hard or impossible.
*
I always look into workaround incase they really do it. I will subscribe to ngrok for its reverse proxy. Or hopefully by than ipv6 become stable.

Fast and wide kinda difficult, 5ghz is fast but less coverage
2ghz is wide but slower..

I bought Mikrotik HP AC2, the 2.4ghz seems not stable at all..
*
I am using the same router, no prob with 2.4hz have you try other devices having same issue?

5hz good for devices 1 wall/concrete away, anything with 2 or more wall/concrete performance will drop and switch to 2.4hz

If all else failed, You can try Ubiquiti AP, read is good.

is it possible to report mcmc if tm declines to provide public ip?
*
You can try request from TM. Report to mcmc is no use as this is not stated in the contract.

If you cant have the public IP, use reversed proxy service like ngrok.

If worldwide users& platform dont move to ipv6, these scenario will happen sooner or later, unavoidable.

Where? Got a link? You really need to brush up on your English before you start using words longer than 4 letters. Please stop making a fool of yourself.

And all this because you disagree with me using old screenshots?

The TIME one above is genuine. Forged no but massaged maybe.

Ah, thanks for your feedback mate. So its still possible with torrents with loads and loads of leeching peers I guess.
That upload speed result for Perth is very very interesting, it seems like they're limiting uploads to outgoing international connections to around half your maximum upload speed, not a hardcapped speed.

Thanks again for your effort man!
*
It maybe the TM link to the perth side have limit, not every link between isp are unlimited, all depending on the peering agreement.

Just found out today that my Auntie's office UnifiBiz 100Mbps has been Turbo'ed to 800Mbps. I don't think anyone in the office noticed. Happened sometime in April.
*
Maybe the router cannot cope so still feel like 100mbps

Oh, it's not that. The router is just fine. Office ppl doing normal office work won't see much of a difference. More proof that we don't really need crazy speeds like 800Mbps.
*
300mbps is good for me, unless I am housing 20 people my house wink.gif

I prefer to have higher upload too maybe unifi can give m 200/100 wink.gif

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind higher upload speeds especially now with so many cloud services.

Later I post the usage for my auntie’s office. When they were at 100Mbps, I think the highest 5-min average I’ve ever seen was 50Mbps. Her office has about 150 devices at any one time but not all active. Maybe 30-40 active devices. Traffic is about 1.5 - 2 TB a month.
*
Good, mean her office staff are working not surfing biggrin.gif

TMPoint. Its not about changing the plan, its terminating the contract and starting a new one.
They will change the hypptv box for free if you sign up for a new 2 yr contract.
*
Maybe their process is when terminate, and apply new plan, your will need to put into FIFO que for the new plan, therefore your fiber port maybe given to the first in que previously.

is the fibre optic cable very brittle?
the installer mention that the cable cannot be bent as it will break
It made the cable on my house looks a bit messy.
*
Can be bend, but not too much, you can't do 90deg sharp bend, circular bending are ok. Each cable have its bending spec.
