Hi all,
I just want your experience with Unifi Turbo speed. I'm currently on Turbo 500Mbps but my router is still on 100Mbps. I'm currently paying RM200 including tax for this turbo 500 speed.
I'm in 2 minds on whether I should downgrade to 100Mbps @RM129. I'm not a gamer but I do have Netflix with 4 people in the house. Any good reason to stay on 500Mbps?

QUOTE(soonwai @ Feb 19 2019, 09:18 PM) You’re on RM189 for 500Mbps? I’m RM159 for 800Mbps. It all depends on the person. I’ll opt for the fastest speed so am quite happy with 800Mbps. Not a gamer either. At most 2 Netflix screens at the same time. Wah, how did you get such a good deal @RM159?

QUOTE(dickybird @ Feb 19 2019, 08:13 PM) So your subbing to Netflix for rm51? Any 4k displays in the house? How frequently do all 4 users access Netflix simultaneously? If your Unifi bill is split 4 ways then it really doesn't matter, just get yourself a better router with dual band WiFi for a faster internet access and capacity to handle more wireless devices. I've a family plan with Netflix but I seldom watch. Yes, I've a 4K TV in the house on Netflix too. Besides that, it's mainly internet, youtube.

Can someone suggest the cheapest GE router which supports Unifi 500Mbps?
No need AC router as I already have Tenda AC11 which acts as AP since I cannot configure it as router for Unifi.
Thanks!

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Feb 21 2019, 05:34 PM) Click the link on my signature and see list of recommended routers. You will need an AC router to even attempt to hit 500Mbps. It won't be cheap. I'm talking about hitting those speed on wired connection. Wireless, another story la. Even on wired, still need high end AC router?
