hi there , thanks for the reply.  he came my house check check and say my C9 got problem cant give full speed, so he changed to UNIFI router. and since the UNIFI DLINK router is giving out 100mbps exact same to my subscription , i didnt bother to change it back to C9. i was thinking about it actually, to try and change it back to C9 coz im very my C9 is a better router than UNIFI's.
i am connected to the 5ghz, in fact i disabled the 2.4 ghz band just to make sure i only able to connect to the faster speed bandwidth.
*
The C9 is definitely better. Try updating the C9 firmware if possible, and see if that helps with getting full speed, even on 5GHz. Go to the official TP-Link product page here: https://www.tp-link.com/my/download/Archer-C9.html

Remember to check the router version and get the correct firmware for your router's version.

hi all,

recently my unifi just upgraded to turboed 500Mbps however still find that its slow. using tm unifi router Archer C1200.... all the while using their router no issue, after upgrade to turbo find out that its even slower than before upgrade. Also when call them to come out to troubleshoot, they charge RM53 just to step into my home and check the modem and 5 mins job but still no difference.. .wah lau....
*
That router can't support 500Mbps over wifi. It can only support it via wired connection, with RJ45 Cat 5e and above. I suggest referring to 1st page, 1st post, green text, for a quick lesson in home networking, and recommendations for a good router for your speed.

Why not able to support 500?
My Archer C5 can get 519 down, 103 up.
*
I meant it cant support the speed over WiFi. It will be able to if it is wired connection. I am assuming you are connected to the router directly via RJ45 Cat 5e or above?

Sure or not? thats the router TM provide when upgrade my line to turbo 500mbps. i saw the router configuration inside got 2.4ghz and 5ghz speed configuration. TM engineer told me if old devices connecting most likely use 2.4ghz if newer devices connecting will be on 5ghz. how do i know whether my device is old or new? NEw means bought in 2018? 2017? 2016? old means ?? how do they define old and new? i am confused.
*
Sure la. They only provide a router that can support the speed on wired, but definitely not on WiFi. TM only promise that you can get the speed on wired, and NOT WiFi. You have to get your own router for that.

It is possible to reach the speed in WiFi, but you need to be near the router la. Nothing to do with new or old. If your device support 5GHz, then you will be able to connect on 5GHz. If not, then no. Older devices and cheap newer devices only support 2.4GHz. There is 5GHz N and 5GHz AC. You would want to connect to 5GHz AC, not 5GHz N.

Refer to 1st page, 1st post, green text, for a brief lesson in home networking.

Make report yesterday and call installer, this morning woke up already can connect but now disconnect again, dont know is tm or installer problem. If fibre cable problem straight away cant connect right?
*
I suggest call installer to come check. It is definitely a physical issue. They need to check for you. Where in Penang are you? They could be doing some maintenance.

Hi
For 2.4ghz what channel witdh should be configured?  Not mention here
Edited by fruitie. Removed whole long quote!
*
Lol. You don’t need to quote the whole first post. I did say 20MHz, somewhere in there: “2.4 GHz offers coverage for further distances, but may perform at slower speeds. Use 20MHz channels in the 2.4 GHz band”.

Bro,

how about 5Mhz? What channels band? not mention in the posts either.
*
The bandwidth on 5GHz is up to you. You can go for 40MHz or 80MHz, depending on your devices and your speed.

Hi, we used to have problems with TM DIR-850L router where internet would frequently disconnect and Unifi TV go down especially under heavy load (e.g. download large files).

Now we replace router with TP-Link Archer C60 but new problem emerge which is certain Unifi TV channels become stuck and when TV is stuck, internet also become slow. If TV changed to a channel that is fine, internet will also go back to normal.

Anyone know where the problem is and how to resolve it? Maybe it’s the modem that has problem?
*
Both sound like router issue. Test with another router.

cry.gif why not for the turbo. I waited more than a year for this Unifi...
Btw, I didnt research much on the networking technology. I hear that unifi could connect back to the copper infrastructure. Is that so? correct me if I am wrong.
I know our fiber infra tech is different from other country where they can have parallel speed for both upload and download speed if I didnt remember wrongly.
*
Turbo is pointless if you don't have a good router and devices that can support the speed, so don't get too depressed about it.

QUOTE(exdtan @ Mar 25 2019, 08:41 PM)
I waited from 2018 till now... my house 30mbps still havent upgrade to 300mbps. Negeri sembilan area... Is it just me ?
*
It will be until July 2019, as some have said, so you might need to wait. Are you even eligible for 300Mbps? If you can't wait, better to go for the new plans which is 100Mbps.

Nowadays the router is quite expensive one..
I believe still can modified one, just I'm not sure the way to modified..

Not so fast to invest the new router.. It will cause my wallet pain if just install unifi and again purchase router.. Somemore need to purchase android tv box..

True. There are budget options though, so you can consider them. Just giving a suggestion icon_rolleyes.gif
