QUOTE(youngkies @ Jun 15 2007, 09:47 AM) no one mention CCD, so should be CMOS. I thought they were going to use the same sensor present in the Imobile 902 which is CCD. they put in the selection switch for preview, camera, video mode is quite innovative. Probably that is the trigger to open camera cover? more info from SE: say goodbye to screen protector. Hmm, the camera cover should be able to work by a dedicated button (or slide button) similar to digicams, or i would prefer a manual cover. I think a screen protector is still needed. The glass scratch proof surface should be the same as those on more expensive watches which can still be scratched somewhat. |

SE didn't mention anything about the camera having extra manual controls like exposure time etc. Sigh.

QUOTE(ellimist @ Jun 15 2007, 12:25 PM) Well in all honesty,I'm interested in the phone's video recording features. If there's no real significant upgrade there,then,well,k800/k810 users can give this a skip if they're not too desperate for 5mp It all depends on the picture output quality of the K850i. The K800i just has too much compression, over-the-top noise reduction algorithm and poor AF mechanism. If the K850i does not have all this limitations and IS a true 5mp camera phone, then it will be miles ahead of the K800i. |

for screens that are so small, 262k colours is more than enough. with 16m colours, it will do more bad (drain battery) than more good (making it slightly better in colour reproduction).
only with large 15-20" LCDs we can really see a difference. for super tiny handphone screens, nahhhh. |

QUOTE(iCHiH @ Jun 20 2007, 12:15 PM) but thr is a lens glass in front of the lens, so if the len glass get sractch it also affect when taking pic. why dun do as current cyber shot, if sractch its only the casing. u mean on top of the lense cover there is a another plastic clear cover? i don't think so as that would defeat the purpose anyway. maybe it is the effect from the picture taken in the posted pic of the K850i. |

QUOTE(StratOS @ Jun 20 2007, 12:37 PM) the glass lens wont get scratches if u dun use anything to touch it or scratch it.. its built in deeper than the back case so it wont have friction with table surfaces or anything.. if there is already a lense cover there, there should be no need for that extra glass plastic above the lense. back to my Q, is it really a plastic thing there or is it due to the camera over exposure? |

QUOTE(StratOS @ Jun 20 2007, 12:42 PM) the auto lense cover should be enough to protect everything. what for another cover over that? but anyways, from the pic, the pic on the left shows that the auto lense cover is exposed. but on the right it seems like there is a plastic covering. so which is true? |

QUOTE(iCHiH @ Jun 20 2007, 12:59 PM) come to think of it now, i think it will be below rm2k. if not, can't fight n95.even with a 5mp cam, by the time it comes out, the n95's price would be much cheaper i think. and n95 has VGA recording and GPS. QUOTE(StratOS @ Jun 30 2007, 01:07 PM) I think it is just not physically possible. Just see the specs of the 902 and it is already damn scary. Multi-point AF, Slow-Sync Flash option, Matrix-Metering option, Sharpness adjustment, Color depth adjustment, and Flicker Control adjustments on the I-Mobile 902 along with its CCD sensor is enough to put the K850i to shame. I am actually very sad because i thought they would use the similar sensor in the K850i. This post has been edited by shockk: Jul 1 2007, 05:15 PM |
