When I press the right button, it turns on the speaker phone and the words change to Speaker OFF. Pressing the right button again turns off the speaker phone. Erm ... This is my second day with my W910. I've loaded it with all my contacts, contact pics, and 350+ MP3s. So far, I've not experienced any lag problems. Where are you guys encountering the lag?

QUOTE(neeko @ Dec 21 2007, 08:53 AM) Ok, I've tried that. The phone doesn't lag when I hit the Menu key or scroll to contacts or try to write new message. But when I keep doing the same thing for about 4 or 5 times, there's a lag of 1 to 2 seconds. Overall, I'd say that's quite acceptable. On another note, this phone doesn't seem to be getting enough coverage here on LowYat.Net, unlike phones line the K750i and others with their write-ups on software, features, users, etc. Neeko, maybe you can start a "serious" topic for the W910i since you're one of the original owners. Also, does anyone (or rather, any owner of the W910i) have the file Timber.mp4? I seem to have accidentally deleted that file or it was not included in my phone. That's preventing my Demo Tour feature in the Entertainment Menu from running. If anyone has the Timber.mp4 file for the W910i, I would be grateful if you could send it to me or upload it to the site as an attachment. |

Thanks for the file, neeko. Should it be in the videos folder in phone memory or the themes folder in phone memory?

I think I've seen it in Penang at Charlie Celullar in Gurney. I nearly bought that colour but decided on black instead. I didn't like the colour of the back panel of the phone.

I've been using this phone for a month. I haven't experienced any "lag" problems or problems around the "C" key. That's the honest truth. I'm not experiencing any of the problems mentioned by the other users as far as lag or problems around the "C" key. Maybe it's because I'm real careful, or maybe it's because mine is an original Thorus set. Or maybe it was just pure luck that I picked up a problem-free set.

I'm currently using this firmware version: 1200-9135 R1CA039 071029
I'm not sure if Ori sets come with Pin Yin or not. I got my set from Charlie Cellular in Gurney Plaza (Penang) for RM1,699 on 18/12/07. It came with a 2GB card. The price may be high, but I'd rather spend a little bit more $$$ and get it from a reputable shop rather than get frustrated with a not-so-good set later on. |

Yes, my phone has the Pin Yin language option for Phone language. In writing language, there's the option for "Simplified Chinese".

QUOTE(skyer @ Jan 24 2008, 09:12 PM) Alright, I ownED this phone, with a Past Tense. I sold it yesterday. No offence intended dude, but didn't you check out the phone before you bought it? I mean, didn't you hold the original/actual set and get a feel for the keys before you bought it?I cost me RM1.7K to buy the ORI set and with the very FIRST week, as usual, I tried my best to convince myself about the LAGGINESS. However, at the end of the week itself, I really couldn't stand with it anymore. In addition to this, the plastics of the W910i is quite "thin", in which when we press a Key, for example, the C key, the surrounding plastics appears Noise as well. As I used to sms during the night before I sleep (and thus, very quiet) , I just couldn't stand the sound where I press ONE KEY, but several plastic sounds appear, especially the area surrounding the C key there. Finally, I returned to the SE shop and ask for warranty claim service. Waited for 1.5 weeks, it came back. BUT, the problem is still there. The plastic sound is getting noticeable and another 3 days using, I returned to the SE shop again. Well, the Boss was quite friendly, I told him all the problems I face and he Double-verified with another W910i and to be frank, I really felt comfort as the bugs are cross-phone problems. Alright then, I said, how about the looseness sound? The boss said can send back and tighten it. Alright, another 1.5 weeks I waited and finally, my phone was back. And what is the next problem? The phone couldn't start at all~! Well, you may complaint its the Technician fault and I was too fed up with all the problems, I have never owned a slider before and this have given me a bad experience. So, I just sell it off, even I have to face RM600 loss. I don't want to look at my phone and I felt depressed with it. May be I am the very unfortunate one. Just for sharing. SenseME, Shake Control and Auto Landscape mode.... I was very attracted with these features but after really trying it: SenseME: cumbersome process and slow for music treatment, I found that simply put in the songs into the Pendrive and load it to the phone is much faster and simpler. Shake Control: Cool...but pressing next is much faster. Howver, amomg the 3 features, this is the most practical I felt. AUto Landscape: Just a fun thing only... When you counter-checked with another W910i set, did you encounter similar problems? Did such similar problems exist with W910i sets found in other shops? Maybe the sets in the shop where you bought from were from a poorer-quality batch? Maybe the shop itself wasn't reputable? If the phone couldn't start after you got it back, then it's something wrong with the software. To be realistic, it had nothing to do with your original problem, and that was the loose plastic sound near the C key. It was your bad luck that you found a lousy technician to service your phone, or maybe, the shop that sold you the phone and sent your phone for servicing isn't as reputable as you thought. With regards to the phone features, everyone goes ga-ga when they try out the features for the first time. After a few days of frequent trying-out, these new features tend to become old news. The same happens with any phone or any model. With regards to SenseME, have you tried uploading your songs via the Media Manager supplied by SE? If the uploading speed is slow, maybe it has something to do with your computer? Cumbersome as it may be, it's a feature no other phone model can provide at this time. It's just an added feature. I'm sure you bought your W910i not solely for this feature, right? Shake Control not convenient? Tell that to the W580i users. As with the SenseME function, it's just something extra. A gimmick if you will ... Auto Landscape ...? Well, I kinda think that's kinda cool. Nothing fancy really, but just an extra feature of the phone. It's unfortunate and sad that you didn't get to enjoy your W910i. Maybe if you had bought it from a different shop, maybe ... maybe things would have been different. |
