better sound quality and photo quality of coz,but u nid to do lots of comparisons, some might prefer the original drivers over the modded drivers, and some might prefer certain modded drivers over others

I see. Where can I get "software"?

Has anyone here get a Fiio E5 amp for music? With megabass and bass boost option on, the HPM-70 delivers so much bass..

I just modded my W910i with this acoustic driver. http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=177350

The sound is noticeably louder and the mega bass is truly mega which I don't quite like. There's hissing sound whenever the music is played. All of the situations above are encountered without the FiiO E5.

Anybody uses the manual equalizer? Please share the setting here~

I've switched back to default. Hehe~ Honestly, I don't like to hear any hissing sound when I am enjoying the music.

Upgrade firmware will cause how much ?  hmm.gif

$0 if you do it yourself. If yours is original, the SE service centre will do it for you free of charge.

I also dunno about that ...  icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, as long as your SE unit is original aka Midland unit, then you can get free firmware update there. Howerver, you can actually do it by yourself.

You have to modify the acoustic driver. You can go to www.esato.com for more info. You can refer to previous pages too.

We were talking about modifying the acoustic driver for better music. The driver enhanced the loudness as well.

izzit safe to modify the acoutic driver? it won't spoil the phone or anything rite? mainly i just want to adjust the volume when listening to phone calls (too soft)
*
Well.. if you carefully follow the steps. Don't modify other system settings if you don't know what it is.

By the way, I'm okay with my w910's volume.

I configured the media manager to encode my songs to AAC format. Most of my music are encoded in mp3 at first.

I just modded my W910i. Now the speaker really sounds good. When using the headphone, i only need to set it to 4 green bars. If set to max, i think i'll be deaf in no time. The ringtone haven tried yet but try now .. see if it will boost the rintone volume.

Added on February 15, 2009, 12:18 amOk. Ringtone is loud, fm radio all still usable.

Added on February 15, 2009, 12:24 amBut i think theres some hissing sound when i using the earphone zzz
*
Yes, I modded my phone back to original state because of the hissing sound. Although the hissing sound is at constant volume, it can be compensated by increasing the volume but this will hurt my ear drums.

Yes, the songs that I transferred to my phone are all in ACC format which are automatically converted from MP3 by the SE Media Manager.

I was also doing the mixing of the acoustic drivers but I don't find any suit my taste. So, I end up with the original.

QUOTE(Ayaka @ Feb 19 2009, 01:07 AM)
Hi, i m a new user of this phone.. Have a few questions here..

1st, the camera shutter seems to be very annoying.. I m really running out idea to turn it off, even in silent mode.. even alrdy turn the volume level to zero, and it doesn't have the "off" option in the shutter sound selection menu.

2nd, the left upper right button, my friends w910i is Contacts. But mine was really weird. It appear to be a logo. I think it is related to the browser. It is what "optus zoo" "yes optus" thingy. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

Thanks guys.. appreciate if you lend me a helping hands!!
*
The shutter sound is meant to alert people just in case you are doing something immorally. However, there's way to turn it off by just replacing the system document. I have no idea how to do this.

I bet that your phone is like those phones issued by the Telco. You can make yours the same as your friend by flashing the "generic firmware".

Haha... I agree, the camera on the w910i is really not up to the expectiation but it still works when you just want to snap a pic.

For this reason, I've bought myself a Panasonic LX3.
