Yo, any backpacker accommodation to recommend?
Going Tokyo for olympic 2020 and most probably will purchase the national jr pass. Airbnb and ryokan are very expensive in Tokyo
So don't mind to stay further from city as long as jr rail is nearby

If backpack and you just want cheapest possible, can try capsule hotel. Apparently, just to sleep it is quite comfy (according to utube review lah).

hmm, personally I kinda wary of backpackers lodges that are too cheap to be true. They might try to cram as much people inside. Japan houses are already quite small and to cram more people inside can be real fire hazard as houses usually don't have adequate fire protection. When I think of Kyoani office fire, I am quite concern on that.

But ur best bet is probably backpackers FB.

No choice bro, travelling on budget.
Not enough headcounts to share rental for an AirBnB per night.
Or you have any recommendation for affordable one albeit further but easy access to JR rails?

Well if you can stomach some discomfort and being squeamish, hehehe..... I read some extreme kamsiap examples are 24hr manga cafes (is smallish thus the discomfort), and love hotels (the squeamish, hahahaha). These go by the hour so you really only pay what you use.

The outgoing optimistic and friendly person type would probably find fast friends in Tokyo and bunk with them (rotate after couple of days).

If going with girls then can use this as an excuse to go love hotel brows.gif

You could try searching hotels around Urayasu area. Halfway btw Tokyo and Haneda.
Btw, nice nick you have there.  biggrin.gif

But honestly at RM400, capsule hotels in Tokyo is within ur budget lah. Maybe a bit further from the center will go much lower. Try this http://shorturl.at/yDEWY

Quick check on Toyoko inn (plenty of locations for you to choose), single room (incl. breakfast) is roughly RM 260 per night.

Reservation seems to be open for 6 months in advance (can only check until March 2020) so should be still fine for Olympic (July), just remember to reserve early.

Do consider apply for their lifetime membership (1500 yen) for the discount rate, advance reservation and early check-in.

Need some suggestion from expert here.
I am going to Japan this July for 2weeks and I am exploring Tokyo -> Nagoya -> Kyoto -> Osaka. Then Osaka -> Tokyo directly, to catch my flight back to KL

Questions:
1. I am exploring each cities for few days. Would you suggest me to buy 14 days JR tokyo wide pass?
Or should I buy the shinkansen ticket separately?
e.g. separate shinkansen ticket from tokyo->nagoya, then nagoya->kyoto... would it be cheaper this way?

2. Should I buy an Icoca/Suica IC card? Is Icoca card can be used in Nagoya/Tokyo/Osaka too?
Or it's limited to Tokyo only?

Easiest way is to buy Tokyo Wide Pass, but I'm trying to save some bucks here.
Thanks in advance.

Yup, only 3 days
That's the 14-day Japan Rail Pass, not Tokyo Wide Pass
