Hi sifus

Any recommended hotel about RM500-600/night suitable for couple and a 4yo kid in tokyo for 6 nights? from limited research, it seems to me shinjuku or shibuya area is good.

can those "semi-double bed" in APA hotels fit average size couple and a 4yo?

Thanks.

Semi double is smaller than double/queen size bed. And APA hotel is well known for small coffin like room.

If you specifically looking at SHinjuku and Shibuya, you will get mostly small hotel with your budget. Even if you get that value, it might be far away from the center. As for APA, me and wife stayed there just nice. If you add a 4yo for 6 nights, might be a bit of stretch. Furthermore most probably you do not even have space to put your luggage.

If thats the case I will have to look elsewhere. Which area or neighbourhood are recommended other than shibuya and shinjuku?

Hi All,

Will be at Tokyo this 22/3 to 28/3 with wife and 4yo kid. Need your help to review my preliminary itinerary (Mostly copy paste from suggested itinerary in the front page).

Very lacking of kid activities admittedly. May include DisneySea and Ueno Park into the itinerary, or is there any better recommendations?

Thanks.

22/3/19 Touch down at Narita 0715am.

FRIDAY Take Narita Express to hotel at Shinigawa to deposit luggage

Odaiba
- Fuji TV: FOC (depends on preference in visiting this place)
- Chibi Maruko Chan Café
- Odaiba - DECKS (afternoon): Enjoy afternoon view.

DAY 3

For transport, I would get
1. Narita Express return ticket
2. 3 day + 3 day + 1 day Pass for Tokyo Metro
3. Hakone day pass

Are these passes able to cover all my transport needs in Tokyo?

first time travel to tokyo with 4yo? if yes, i suggest 1 set (2 pcs of 72h metro pass for both u and ur wife) is enough, buy suica card n reload, try not to save on jr lines coz most place is more convenient with jr. if u take tk metro, it going to waste ur time (don't get me wrong, if no kids is fine.. maybe my daughter nags me too much). add on, try to reduce ur destination coz u are traveling with stroller, some places will have hiccups with long stairs especially subway. ur 4yo will be sleeping and it will slow u down. if u didn't bring stroller, u going to be winner.

Yup first timer here.

Yup no plan to bring stroller until your statement "u going to be winner". Why so?

Disney u better fix it on weekdays in my opinion. Weekend the crowd will be too much for you. also maybe better if u dont put disneysea and disneyland in continous day, it'll be tiring. The parks are huuuugeeee. sweat.gif

Also Ginza on sunday might be better since the closed of part of the road for shoppers use.
For your Day 7, it'll be very rush for u unless you just touch and go kinda tourist. With 4yo in tow, my advice is dun rush it. Odaiba is very nice with the scenery and sea breeze
*
Thanks for comment. However, my tokyo trip coincides with Japanese spring break school holidays and according to Disney crowd predictor below, it doesnt make any difference, in fact weekday is worst =.=
http://www15.plala.or.jp/gcap/disney/
http://en.disneyreal.asumirai.info/monthly...nth-expect.html
Agree that under normal circumstances i would have fixed on weekdays instead.

Your thoughts on Odaiba scenery better in the day or night? I may slot it on Day 1 or 4.

QUOTE(Belphegor @ Mar 20 2019, 02:37 PM)
Any possibility of you swapping your Disney ventures from weekend to weekday? I foresee you gonna have a crazy long queue if you visit weekend. sweat.gif

Others look okay to me. For Mt Fuji viewing, you can either visit kawaguchiko or hakone. Kawaguchiko got bus to go, picking passengers from Shinjuku station, almost once every half an hour. one way journey takes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours max. JPY3500/adult if the price didn't fluctuate since 2017. laugh.gif
*
Hi i've considered the disney timing in my post above.

On the mt fuji viewing, in my opinion kawaguchiko have better views but hakone have much more activities on the hakone freepass loop. Dilemma dilemma. most likely going with hakone to suit my 4yo.
