I am visiting tokyo and kyoto.

My aim is to fully utilize JR pass on train and bus.

I have planned transportation for Kyoto:
(1) jr train route, and
(2) jr bus route (based on route maps under http://www.arukumachikyoto.jp/bus_search.php?lang=en)

I am currently planning the route for tokyo.
(1) I have found the jr train route;
(2) But, I can't seem to dig out the jr bus route map. Anyone can assist on the jr bus route map?

If I bring my laptop to Japan, how do I charge the laptop? Different power plug. Buy convertor?

Probably need this info on 1st page?

Just use adaptor and you can charge. Voltage is not an issue.

Just have a look at your laptop charger adaptor.... it would've written that power input is 100-240V~....

Just need buy Universal Plug converter only.
But most of Japan hotel now days got provided Universal Socket type, British or American 2 in 1

Malaysia Input are 240V while Japan only 110V. So Japan Voltage won't burn Malaysia Adapter.
If you buy Japan made 110V input converter and used in Malaysia,  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif .....it will instant burn the thing.

Thank you for the reply. Very informative biggrin.gif

What about currency exchange?
Option (1): Withdraw japanese yen directly from Japan ATM. There is a fixed charge rate per transaction.
Option (2): Bring Malaysia ringgit and exchange at Japan airport.
Which one cheaper? Option 1 seems less trouble.

Never exchange money at Airport. Due to expensive rent, the rate they give you are lowest.
I always exchange 100k Yen at Malaysia and shopping or expensive stuff are pay by using credit card.

Even withdraw from ATM at the narita airport, the rate is not worth it? blink.gif I forgot where I read. The advice is just withdraw at 7-11 ATM machine biggrin.gif
