Sifu, I am going to Osaka next year February.

May I know that which recommended ATM to withdraw cash from BigPay? Such as maximum withdrawal cash? Charge?

I heard a lot of people mentioned that the currency exchange rate is better via BigPay.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks, Sifu.
I plan to go Japan without carry any "Yen". I just afraid that withdraw unsuccessful/ fail only.

I bought JR Haruka Airport express (Klook) from Kansai Airport (KIX) to Kyoto.

Flight Landed Time: 9:40pm (AirAsia)
Last Train: 10:15pm.

According to Klook, there are green machine (Kiosk) to ex-change ticket.
Anyone have this kind of experience? Am I too rush and may skip the last train?

My Plan B is, waste the 1 night accommodation at Kyoto, and stay at Airport & take 6:30am train.

Do you know how big was kansai airport? it need take Internal Train from gate to Center of Terminal which is Custom section, after custom you had to walk from Terminal to Aeroplaza which is train station located.

0% you can ride on last train.

Thanks for your advice, Bro.
I think the only way is to overnight at Airport, and take the 1st train next morning.

Hi Sifu,

Need advice here.
1) Usually, where are you buy ICOCA? In Kansai Airport? There are available in Klook (selling price: RM85.90) with pre-reload 1,600 yen. Is this worth?
2) Any unlimited ride for bus in Kyoto?

Thanks.

1) I bought my ICOCA at Kansai airport at the JR West ticket office. I don't think the Klook offer is worth it. I saw on their website that the ICOCA is preloaded with 1,500 yen + a 500 yen deposit (not mentioned on the website but that's how it's sold in Japan). 2,000 yen is about RM75 only. Besides, if you're planning to use your ICOCA to get to Kyoto, 1,500 yen isn't going to get you there - you'll still need to go top it up first either at the machine or at the office!

2) Yes, you can get a Kyoto bus pass for unlimited rides. I didn't buy it though, I just used the ICOCA card. The bus pass is only worth it if you take more than 3 bus rides in a day.

Thanks for your feedback, Sifu.

By the way, how to get the unlimited rider for Kyoto bus pass? I tried to search in Google, but get those wired website.

Wow..to my surprise, I managed to take the last Haruka Train to Kyoto Station yesterday!!!

Arrived Kansai Airport 20 minutes earlier.

My experience was as below:
9:35pm: step out from aircraft.
9:40pm: take internal train to main terminal. I run to immigration like nobody business.

There are 4 stations there,

9:42pm: clear 1st counter (finger print & take photo)
9:45pm: clear 2nd counter (finger print & take photo), and gave me entry Japan sticker (I dont understand why there are repeated steps)
9:49pm: took my luggage~~
9:51pm: clear custom goods declaration counter.
9:53pm: ask customer officer that where is the green machine. (It is located 2nd level, outside direction after exit custom)

9:55pm: run to green machine
10:00pm: I spent 5 minutes to play with the green machine. At the end, I went to JR office (beside the green machine), and the officer help me to exchange ticket immediately. OMG - Klook gave the outdated "exchange ticket" instruction, I cant get the scan QR code option from the green machine.
10:04pm: Got the ticket. Luckily, the JR train Station is infront of the JR office also.
10:07pm: Step in to Haruka Train. smile.gif

God bless me!!!

Japan really couldn't or wouldn't ban Chinese nationals for travels? Really scary thinking about this. Now news about first death of an 80 year old woman and a taxi driver in Japan that got infected really got me thinking to just cancel all my travel plans there.
Same. But they're all wearing masks on mine so spoil a bit the picture.  biggrin.gif

I think that they will not ban China visitor at this moment.
Because China visitors is their main income in tourist industry.

I am in Osaka now, not everyone is wearing the masks here. Maybe 50% out of 100% Japanese wear mask.

What is the affordable souvenirs recommended in Osaka?

When i 1st travel i will buy souvenirs d. But after that i no buy already. Cox i felt pretty time wasting want to think what to buy to colleagues & friends. This is my enjoyment trip not souvenirs searching trip. I know some of u will think colleagues & friends will question you why no buy so no choice have to buy. My colleagues last time did question me. 1 time 2 times then they no bother to ask d cox they know i wont buy already. LoL. Now i only buy same items for my 4 sisters only.

Yes, I have the same feeling and thought like you.
I should enjoy my trip instead of thinking what to buy for friends, family, colleagues.

Of course, I believe that they also in the same situation when travel oversea.
