Futon during winter no problem lah, I go ski'ing always sleep in JP style rooms with futons, the blanket is so thick and plush, no problem.

But you're right that the thin mattress ... especially as I grow older ... I start to be less and less entranced with the 'culture' and more and more wishing for a proper comfortable mattress biggrin.gif

You did not mention what you are planing to do. Both are different and it really depends what you like.

Yeah, tentatively for autumn vibes. Will do itinerary based on the locations recommended, since can't go both, need to choose. Went to Osaka/Kyoto last year (early Nov), but feels like mid-end of Nov seems better choice. Any recommendation?

Rough idea
Tokyo - Shinjuku/Akibahara/Disney Sea/Studio Ghibli/Hakone
Sapporo - City/Otaru/Noboribetsu/Hakodate

How many days you intend to stay? For me better tokyo, so much place to explore and can do side trip to hakone / kawaguchicko also. Tokyo 5days also not enough to cover for me.

Just done some research in japan-guide.com, right now incline towards Tokyo, since i found return ticket for RM1399. Is this good price for early Nov? No idea if it's too rush. Need to further study buy might need to lock the ticket first just in case hmm.gif

To buy disneysea tickets is it advisable to buy thru 3rd party like "Travel recommends" so that we can get advance and surety tickets, or do we risk the other way and get tickets in Japan itself?

Buy at Disney Store there. I did buy online, but somehow after printing, QR code didn't show up (not sure if it was my issue), i waste 30 minutes at Information counter at DisneySea to ask them for new ticket.

The reason why WHO is advicing social distancing as one of the preventive measures. Even without skin contact, there is a high possibility the virus can hang in the air. If this contaminated air gets circulated, unknown people could get infected, which is why they hypotesized 1 person could infect up to 3500.

Better just stay at home and take the time carefully plan vacation to Japan in next year. Japan will still be around in 2021. There is high chance Olympics might either be cancelled or postponed to 2021.

Postponed to an unknown date. Hopefully, the Games will still be ON eventually.
