I think i know what he means. Limited express or rapid service train you can use IC card as well as long as it is not reserved seat. Only those reserve seat train need to purchase additional ticket. Some train got front few cars is open seating mean anyone can go in then the back section cars is reserved seat only mean need additional ticket for it. You can see this info on the timetable screen i think. If u not sure then everytime u get into the ticket gate u can ask the officer at the gate there that where you want to go. They will tell u which platform. No need to ask so proper english 1. Just simple like "sumimasen namba eki?" (eki means station) They sure know d. Be aware of the osaka JR platform, there got 2 queue lines on the floor. 1 queue line for local line & 1 queue line for rapid train line. Check the timetable screen which train come 1st. Jgn jgn train come je masuk only. Later masuk local line then 30mins train ride to kyoto become 1h+.

Based on the online information, the exchange ticket counter closes at 10:00pm and on this website https://www.klook.com/activity/3277-5-day-k...e-area-jr-pass/ it mentions that JR pass can be redeem via the newly launched digital redemption machines.

Can someone verify this?

It has been more than 4 years since I dropped by this thread, I'm here again because I will have a trip to Japan this November. This round will be two weeks spread across Kansai and Kyushu. I don't have plan yet where to go in Kyushu as I have not been there but at least I know I will travel to Kyushu from Osaka and going back to Kyoto from Kyushu. By looking at this situation, I feel it's wiser for me to use Shinkansen to travel Kansai-Kyushu-Kansai? In that case, Nationwide JR Pass will be good right?

I will be in Kyushu for 7 days and I read from online blogs, to travel within Kyushu can depend on JR lines? In that case, I will take up 7 days pass and in Kansai, I will just probably buy something like Kansai Travel Pass which I have bought before.

Sorry, I haven't been researching on this Japan trip because I was busy earlier with my Europe trip. So pardon me. So far I have booked accommodations in Kansai but not Kyushu yet and I will be in Japan during peak - Autumn in November. Good luck to us.

Oh, I don't need the nationwide pass? I will be crossing region right? From Osaka and back to Kyoto, no need to buy the pass covers whole Japan?

i forgot but i reserve before with JR pass. when you got the JR pass, you can reserve the seat on the spot or reserve the seat online.

if you reserve online then you will have to bring along your credit/debit used for the reservation for verification purpose. then when you collect your pass, at the same time collect your reserved seat ticket. You won't get charge for reservation unless you ffk on the actual time

I want to ask, I plan to board Airport bus (http://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/) from Tokyo Bay Hotel and saw the road if not available for reserve.

How can I ensure I will have a seat on that bus so I won't miss my flight in Haneda?

Or do you have any suggestion on how I can travel from this hotel to airport?

1. landing at Narita. what cheap transportation to go to Tokyo area?

2. is it worthy to skip kansai area and explore Tokyo only for 12 days? which area you recommend to explore Tokyo area?

3. is it worthy to skip USJ, Disneyland and DISNEYSEA??my son only 1 year old.

4. any free entrance area you recommend? I rike sightseeing like to watch leaves fall in the park etc.
