Coming back to malaysia today
The virus make it less enjoyable because have to wear mask all the time..

Still lots of chinese tourist imo they queue up every morning in front of drug stores to buy masks

Lol
*
Curious, did they jack up the price of mask? I read about news in S. Korea the sellers goreng the price of mask until sky high.

still in dilemma whether to proceed my trip next month, going to lose more than 3000myr for accomodation and entrance fees as those are non-refundable purchase lol, flight ticket wise still not sure whether SIA allow change of flight ticket to next year or they have limited allowable date change
SIA now is being very flexible with waiving flight change or cancellation fees for flights to affected countries in March (and I think May). Can give them a call and see.

Similar with hotels. My Tokyo Hilton booking in end March was non cancelleable rates but they agreed to let me cancel without penalty cos of the virus. Problem is Osaka Hilton (also non cancelleable rate, in early April) said no, cos for now their instruction is to allow exceptions only until end March. But I’m somewhat confident that they will extend this to April bookings too cos the numbers for japan are going up up up.

Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the latest positive case – the 23rd in the country – is a 53-year-old Malaysian woman, who travelled to Japan recently.

"After arriving back from Japan on Feb 23, the patient developed fever symptoms the following day, and received treatment in a hospital in Kuala Lumpur. A Covid-19 test was done, and it was found to be positive on Wednesday (Feb 27)," he said in a statement on Thursday (Feb 27).

Going back to my posted post previously. Glad I did not buy any ticket or hotel for upcoming trip (i am last minute person). Decide to junk the plan and just travel locally.

Not to mention the tour that I will join whenever visit Japan is also will be canceled/close for the time being.

Even my Japanese friend said it is better not to come due the stigma (you just came from japan i need worry abt you) associated to it (that latest case infected returning from from Japan doesnt help also).

The way it was handled is also very Japanese too vs Korea (slow response/high possibility of cover ups). doh.gif

But being said, does everyone in Japan expected to wear mask when going about? Like no mask = wtf are doing, i should stay away from you.

Anyone booked with ANA last year? If I wanted to cancel the trips, is it refundable? Where I can request refund? First time booking with ANA and not sure where to get help.

I believe ANA can cancel as i saw someone posted in AA website while scolding AA why until now cannot do cancellation while still promote ppl to go out breath covid-19.

Where as they compare ANA (refunded) and AA (still promoting).

Unless the gov impose a travel ban to and from Japan, I won’t hold my breath getting a refund from AA. Maybe can pressure them to lower the cost for a ticket change.

find out my flight to tokyo has been delay 10 mins
but airasia said 10 mins only, not consider flight reschedule, unless it's change at least 1 hour, so unable to get full refund, haha
*
1 hour also only consider delay, not retime

it needs to be like at least 3 hours thn only they consider as retime

Teamlab borderless just announced indefinite closure

Disneyland/Sea announced 2week closure, but if situation doesn’t improve I assume it will remain closed for longer.

I guess more places will start announcing more closures too.

Interesting... I was watching NHK world and they reported SK citizen dissatisfaction on the huge price increases for the mask, it didnt say anything about short supply tho.

My bro too is taking this opportunity for cheap travelling to Japan end of March but I'm seriously wanting to dissuade him as I don't want to risk catching the virus from him cuz I have a business trip planned for May which I don't want to miss.
