I haven't plan out my itinerary yet. Generally, just simple leisure travel. The accommodation already settled through AirAsiaGo. I'm thinking of taking just the subways/trains to travel around Osaka city center, no outskirt. First time going to Japan, so I have no idea if I will even buy souvenir as I don't know the price over there.
Travel/transportation = walk and trains mostly, maybe 1-2 cabs but my friends said expensive to take cabs.
Maybe 4 meals at konbini shops, but I don't think I will eat at luxurious or fancy restaurants. Sushi not my type. If estimate, maybe 4k yen per day for meals.
Most likely I go there to see see, take photos, not the food hunter type. Entertainment and entry tickets maybe at most 2 places, but haven't plan yet.
The Universal studio Osaka might be a likely place to visit, so 7.5k yen is needed (last I checked the website is 7.4k yen with tax for an adult).

Just booked my trip for next week and look forward to visiting Tokyo.

Have 7 nights in Tokyo and will be staying at Hilton Tokyo for 5 nights, then move on Hilton Tokyo Bay for two nights (will be visiting Disneyland for two days hence thought it was wise to move to Tokyo Bay.

No itinerary plan as yet but definitely wanting to do a day trip to Mt Fuji and also to view cherry blossom. Any suggestion will be much appreciated (we are mainly looking at shopping, food, and perhaps some cultural visit). Also, for public transport within Tokyo, which pass should I buy?

i bought kansai hiroshima pass, and the Klook agent insisted i can only redeem at KIX counter even though i highlighted many times that my flight will arrive around 9:40pm and won't be able to make it to counter by 10pm.

and the agent kept on repeating "there's nothing we can do, if you can't make it, then return to KIX the following day to collect" x 99 times

i even called HIS counter in KIX to clarify, wasted my money and got the same repeated suggestion

btw for disneyland tickets, can only collect at airports, no longer accept QR scan code at entrance, and yes i have checked with Klook livechat agentS

We will visit mainly the usual tourist places, might use the Osaka Amazing Pass as it includes the admission fee as well

So if visiting Kyoto/Kobe/Nara/USJ, it is better to use the prepaid card?  My trip is 7 days, 1 day allocated for USJ and 1 day for departure to KUL, so 5 days to spend visiting places around Kansai..

Hey everyone, I am going to Osaka in October. Still quite conflicted on which train to take from Kansai Airport (KIX) to Osaka.

There are 2 main choices now:
1) ICOCA/Haruka package costing = 4600yen round trip (inclusive of 2000yen ICOCA purchase)
2) Nankai Airport Express costing =  3840 yen = 1840 round trip (920 one way) + 2000yen ICOCA

Is there any reason to use ICOCA/Haruka package when Nankai Airport Express costs less? I am planning to use ICOCA to travel around Osaka (and USJ), Kyoto and Nara only.

Also, is RM 3,000 for expense enough in Osaka? Exclude accommodation and USJ ticket since they are already paid for before the trip.

Hi. I'll be going to Japan for the first time this October and pretty much have my itinerary sorted out. Just few headaches which I need to seek help from the sifus here.

Day 1: Arrival at Haneda @ 10:30pm. was planning to catch 0:20 bus to Kyoto but 2nd thought, I'm afraid can't make it as I dunno the time taken at the airport. If flight delay, worse. So best plan should be staying at the capsule.

Day 2: Take shinkansen hikari with JR pass to Kyoto

Day 3-5: Touring around Kyoto & Osaka (use Kansai area pass)

Day 6: From Kyoto, go to Kawaguchiko + shop at Gotemba outlet for half day

Day 7: Day tour at Kawaguchiko

Day 8: Hakone day trip - back to Tokyo by night (last day of 7 days JR pass)

Day 9: Visit Disneysea

Day 10-12: Touring around Tokyo areas e.g. Asakusa, Harajuku, Shinjuku, Ginza, Tsukiji market, Ikebukuro, Shibuya etc. will buy 1 day pass each day

Day 13: Last round of touring during day time and return to KL at night

Headache #1: Is it worth it to buy JR Pass 7 days + Kansai area pass? 

Headache #2: What transport option to take (cost + time efficient way) from Kyoto to Kawaguchiko? Seems not many people sharing how to travel from Kyoto to Kawaguchiko.

I do see people recommend to take shikansen hikari from Kyoto-Mishima-Gotemba-Kawaguchiko: around 5 hours total; need to pay 1510 yen for the bus from Gotemba to Kawaguchiko - can somebody advise if this is the best way?

Thanks! Unfortunately, when I buy flight tickets I didn't think of this.
So have to go with this la. Unless I tweak my journey to travel from Kyoto straight back to Tokyo, store the big luggage and take a small one to Kawaguchigo + Hakone. Seems more time-consuming though.
