if custom only, still have stamp with visa validity date + sticker QR code on passport.

source say leave japan only. u enter macam still need go thru immigration personel when masuk.
u enter, immigration will stick the QR code sticker on ur passport + stamp validity. n then when u leave, u go thru automation, n scan the QR code (or no more QR code, just fingerprint/face recognition)

I read it and tried to find some English sites and even downloaded the app. I think it only replaces the paper form that was given to you in the plane before you lands in a Japan airport. So you still have to go though the immigration and get your passport stamped...

That's a good news because it is going to be high influx of visitors coming next year for Olympics.

Checked this morning, super cheap fares. Around Rm580 before adding in luggage and food and seat selection.

The period I checked was for December 2019. School holidays.

Rm900++ (without luggage, food and seat selection) for CNY was still available for CNY 2020 period which is very cheap too.
You mean Keisei bus from Narita to Tokyo? 1000 yen  for normal hours, 2000 yen for midnight hours. But if early morning flight, have to stay at Narita because quite far away from Tokyo.

What time is your flight? There are midnight buses to Narita but double the price.

Nikko Hotel Narita is quite good. Reasonably priced, good breakfast and free shuttle to airport and Narita town. There are also nearby atteactions in Narita town if you have the time to explore.

Is that RM446 before adding in luggage, meals and seats? I was looking into it yesterday and it cost around RM700 ish for return tickets bteeern Jan and March next year.

Anyhow, it's still cheap but not a deal breaker to impulsively travel to Narita as expenses for accommodation and food is still high.

I wonder if it's possible to travel to Tokyo for 8 nights with a RM4k budget per person staying in a 3 star hotel with double bed and eating reasonable food (RM100/day)? Travelling with someone.
