Got any suggestions for Nagasaki specific souvenirs? One that I can go get in the city itself (hopefully not too expensive,haha)? My trip is mainly sightseeing but having something unique is my cherished memory.

Unless you insist the whole group must go around together, better to get pocket wifi. My last trip I got local sim card in my phone but it was difficult to manage when I have to pass it to others because they needed the line more than I do. A pocket wifi can be easily passed among ur group. Either that or if you have spare unused phone, can bring it along as a wifi hotspot with a local sim.

Looking at the replies, I think - when its too good to be true, it usual is something behind. For my trip I budget to get Jp wifi when at there. Saves the hassle if not workable and potential of being cheated. I really facepalm at Malaysian businesses from what FreedomSeeker had shown. Just like a famous boba tea franchise that close operation due to bad rep, now rebranded and back again.

Try bringing fresh durian into Japan and see if they ban you or not. Same thing vice versa.

Some like in Australia are very strict at bringing fresh produce into their country as it could bring in pests. They don't even allow ba'kua in!

I think cooked food is okay but not fresh produce.

For sure scalpers know when to scalp. Their not stupid. I won't be surprised if MR_alien cannot find seats on website but is available on taobao. But to each their own, its not illegal anyways so no harm done.

Cheaper is becoz of bulk buying discounts, usually under group or corporate buys. They still get profits after paying off ground agents/runners. Main reason why they scalp, otherwise nobody will do work for free. For those not so hot (like daily limited thing) they won't overcharge you, but for those time limited stuff, they kaw overcharge to max just becoz they know they can.

This is different than those travel website co-promos where the discounts are really by them in cooperation with the ticket sellers. Usually they limit how many tickets can be bought from the same credit card, so as to discourage scalping.

As said, I don't & won't support them but its not illegal & no harm done.

Shouldn't really matter bus or train, as long whichever best gets you from Point A to B at the cost you prefer. Only difference I see is that bus have luggage spaces for ur bags while trains might be limited in storage. I think parking it at the aisle is a big no no?

Wanna ask about Nagasaki trams, does it use IC card payment? If yes, which IC card to go for?

For my trip, I am planning to bring sufficient cash to cover my estimated expenses while there. At there I would try my luck to pay CC whereever possible (which if accepted then its a bonus for me). For ground arrangements per day (minus hotel), I think 7~8,000 yen is good enough to cover everything?

How does it work? Are we expected to give exact change when buying something with lower value?

Thanks. Is there a good way to break a 10,000 yen note? I mean is it okay to buy something <1000 yen at a kombini with a 10,000 note? These are the only notes I was given by the money changer.
