Seaking some opinion. My coming tokyo trip on dec 31 - jan 7. Planning to do a 2d 1n side trip to mt fuji since my sis said want to see fujisan. Maybe going there by bus. 1st i plan go lake kawaguchiko since this area can give good view of fujisan. Then now my sis tiba tiba said hakone also nice. Told me Can go there as well or not... Haiz...

Now i pening d. It is possible to travel 2 area on a 2d 1n side trip? If it very rush & waste time then if to choose 1 of these 2 area for 1st timer mt fuji viewer, which 1 is better?

Himeji is really a nice castle but if your parents got climbing issue then you should be aware. The ticket entrance till the castle entrance path is keep climbing upward 1 but still ok not very steep. For the stairs inside the castle for me is quite dangerous almost like climbing a ladder. Old ppl with knee problem maybe very difficult. but I think you can skip that 1 if you want & straight walk to the big park under the castle to take photo. So far the best castle through out my journeys to japan.

I bring my parents age 72 & 75 to Osaka last dec. start the trip from Nara -> Himeji -> Kyoto -> then start to drive -> Kanazawa -> Shirakawa-go -> Takayama -> Kyoto & Osaka. The last 1 and half day in Osaka are for me & sisters to do shopping. Parents morning walk a while then back Airbnb for rest & we go shopping at city.

Conclusion from my trip with parents. They don't really like Osaka & Kyoto because too crowded for them. Nara deer dirty & smelly (well old ppl thinking sweat.gif ). Himeji ok... they like the Castle. They most happy when in Kanazawa, Shirakawa & Takayama because way less people & scenery also nice.

Hi guys,

This going to be my 2nd trip to Japan. 1st time is Tokyo, now I'm planning for Osaka this coming Christmas eve 2019 to early 2020. As my first trip I'm traveling with baby girl and now she's toddler 3yo for my coming trip, my plan is like no other because I can't rush due to my daughter. However, like last time everything is planned and it works great with the help of informative LYN forumer.

I have few questions like to ask by any chances u guys experienced it before?

1. have anyone's drive from Osaka station area to Rokkosan Pasture, Kobe before? any advice for driving in late autumn or early winter?

2. anyone drive from Osaka Station to Nara (whole day trip) before? I need advice for parking cost or area to park. As I'm renting kimono for wife n daughter so I'm looking for driving option because i need to drive to high ground area to take pictures.

3. any idea where to go for Christmas eve? (I'm staying near osaka station) *and I'm family 👪 of 3 with a 3yo*

4. any idea where to go for 2020 new year eve? (I'm staying near osaka Station)*and I'm family 👪 of 3 with a 3yo*
Ok for now, thanks again.
*
i went to osaka during christmas last year. family trip with 70+yo parents. same thing cannot rush. so 1 day 1 place to visit only.
1st day train to Nara,
2nd day train to Himeji,
3rd day train to Inari & Arashiyama Bamboo,
4th day drive to kanazawa,
5th day drive to Shirakawago then stay at Takayama,
6th day drive Shin-Hotaka ropeway
7th day walk around Takayama then drive back to Kyoto,
8th (Christmas Eve) & 9th day walk around Osaka City & Shopping. Christmas Eve walk around Namba area everyone wear christmas stuff lo... you can see a lot japanese girl wear sexy Christmas wear la... but dont think you can see a lot if with your wife la... hehe... & I dont think japan have a lot of firework countdown event. normally just party & go temple like that. maybe some light show to watch. Cox this year i will be in tokyo for New Year ask before but seem dont have firework show unless you go to the theme park like disneyland or USJ.
10th day Balik

dont think there will be show in osaka or kobe gua... driving that time should be ok d. i drive till shirakawago & takayama only got snow. not heavy snow la... drive carefully lo... i did use snow tyre la...

anyway i just let you know my itinerary la... mayb different from you. since you wanted to drive i just think sometimes a trip away from major city is also fun & relax d. less crowded also.

Glad to hear that.

Because my little sister wants to travel alone to Tokyo, it's her 2nd in Japan, I'm kinda still worry.
*
walking around shouldn't be issue as it is pretty safe. but as some ppl here said the late train maybe got some drunk japanese problem. if i not wrong those that super drunk the train officer will stop them from entering the gate 1. but those half drunk maybe some is hamsap 1. hehe... That was a time i with my sister in train around 11pm+ back to Ueno. got 1 japanese most probably just after drinking session d cox face red red & blur blur look stand next to my sister & her eyes no blink at all keep looking at my sis scanning up till down then train moving & dono is he taking advantage of it gosok gosok my sister. I pun KNNCCB this guy, i pull my sister to my side then stand between them and my turn i keep looking at him trying hard not to blink lol..... he pulak dont want look at me like how he look at my sister.

Well... dont take thing for granted lo... know the right time to go back hotel. i think from 10pm onward those drunktard mostly just finish their drinking session want to go home d 1. Late night mostly i walk near hotel area to find food d.

Then, I don't want to take the risk la. I will drop by Shin-Osaka to exchange ticket and book ride before heading to Nara for whole day. Thanks for the advice so far.

But Yufuin no Mori should be OK to book at Hakata even if I wanna get on at Tosu?

By the way, what do you think of Beppu? It seems the only attraction they have is Hell tour? Visit different hot springs? Otherwise, I will change my destination, may as well from Yufuin straight back to Hakata instead of Beppu. Then I can go to places like for e.g. Kokura, Mojiko? My hotel in Beppu hasn't charged yet. Any advice for me?
*
There are 2 type of Yufuin no Mori Train. 1 of it got lounge area where you can sit facing the window. This 1 I think is quite popular. When I try to book at Hakata for this particular train morning time to Yufuin for next day, all seat fully taken liou and same for the following 3 or 4 days. I think they book online maybe. Book online need to add another 1000yen every reservation if i not wrong. You can see the timetable Yufuin no Mori 3 & 4 are the one that got lounge area & Yufuin no Mori 1,2,5,6 are just all seat area with mini cafe in middle no lounge & this 1 got a lot of seat available. If you not into that particular train then shouldn't be a problem d.

Will there be any likelihood of road closure between takayama and shirakawago in January due to snow?
*
i drive from kanazawa to shirakawago to takayama & shin hotaka ropeway (this 1 must go) on last year end of dec. yes got snow but still pretty safe to drive d. drive in safe speed & careful lo... request snow tyre when you rent your car in osaka, kyoto or tokyo la... Well the excitement i see snow totally forgot the fear of driving in snow 1st time sweat.gif

hi, anyone here had went to Fukuoka? how is the place? very nice to see? How long u suggest to go there?

any muslim restaurant there? I mean I can eat ramen or any japan cuisine but halal there?
*
If u dont like busy & crowded like osaka & tokyo then fukuoka should b ok d. You can do a lot of side trip to nagasaki, yufuin - beppu, kumamoto, or more far to miyazaki. Kyushu area for me is more to natural & history. For me i did a 10 days trip & i went to okinawa as well since its just a short flight to the island. Spending at there is slightly cheaper than tokyo & osaka.

U talk bout ramen i was happy to say they got 1 ramen that is one of the best in japan but too bad for you it is best because of the pork or pork bone paste soup sad.gif still got other ramen d. But you have to check properly because kyushu type of ramen is pork soup based d.

Halal restaurants ah... Not really sure got or not. But surely got fews d just need to find. No pork i see got la but halal or not really not sure.

I saw for JR Kyushu, theres an option of purchasing "E-ticket for JR Kyushu Rail Pass Online booking"

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Any idea/experience on this option?

Also for seat reservation, its a bit confusing as it stated need 1000 yen for reservation but 5 day JR Kyushu North pass stated free reservation 16 times

BTW Suica card can be used in Fukuoka?
*
E Ticket not very sure

1000yen reservation is to reserve seat using online with ur JR pass. Reserve seat at selected station JR office is free.

Suica can use in fukuoka. But i didnt really use a lot suica bcox they city day pass seem can save more.

That's day 2 ma. Day 1 will visit 4 places and the million dollar view. laugh.gif
*
TBH honest i a bit regret visiting the atomic bomb museum. i got mixed feeling inside. not sure want to pity them or what. it was due to my late grandma who survived the WW2 japan invasion period in malaysia and keep telling me how suffering the family during that time.

The million dollar view is Mount Inasa ah?

Anyone tried ULTRAWIFI before from KLIA2?
How’s the service?
*
I hope I'm not too late to save you. This Ultrawifi i think is the same company as the previous scammer Wifibaby previously. Many ppl dont get deposit back. I am one of the victim on last december. even worst is that when i reach KLIA to pick up the wifi at Tunetalk counter that guy they no longer supply wifi for Wifibaby. Wah... No one inform me bout this, i call them no pick up Whatsapp unreachable. Last min i decided to take Roamingman then come back from japan only go fcuk kao the Wifibaby. After back to Malaysia took me almost 1 month only to reach them. All kind of message no reply & call no pick up. Until one day i decided to allocate my half day to call them before i decided to go to their not sure existed office. from 2pm non stop calling until 5pm finally someone pick up the god damn call. Fcuk them kao kao... threaten them that i will report police & consumer complaints. Then only i layan my case. 2 or 3 weeks later get back my full refund.

You can try to search FB Wifibaby then you can see a lot of ppl complain d.

Then this wifibaby page & fb gone liou but come this Ultrawifi same promo also. You decide la it is same or not. For me i think it is same company lai d.

As my calculations on my previous trip you need atleast 45mins to 1h from the moment u get out from plane till exit the custom declaration officers. If you kena ask to open luggage then more time gone at there.

Did a little reading, Kyoto is just 1 hour from Osaka, I guess there is no need for me to stay in Kyoto, can just do day trip to Kyoto.
*
Take the rapid service train just 30 mins from osaka station to kyoto station. I also stay in osaka only then take train to tokyo for 2 days in row.

Do note there are 2 Teamlab in Tokyo. Both also nearby.

Teamlab Planet is more straightforward (1 way from begin to end)

Teamlab Borderless is bigger but need to explore it like a maze.

I've been to Borderless and my advice is to wake up early and enter as soon as possible as the crowd and queue can b crazy.

Worth or not, it depends on whether you enjoy contemporary art or not. It's mostly stimulation* of visual and auditory.

FYI Klook was selling ticket for borderless today for rm10 (50 pax)
*
Didnt know there are two pulak. But Planet seem ok for me. The RM10 sekejab je dah habis oh... No chance to even see the price tag before add to cart. lol...

QUOTE(Monya Meow Meow @ Oct 11 2019, 06:26 AM)
Yes for sure no worries.

As scchan posted above, there are 2 Teamlabs in case you were not aware.
I chose Planets over Borderless just because of lower crowd anticipation and it being a temporary exhibit.

Borderless seems more value for money though.
*
Yalor really not aware there are two. Anyway i wait for your good news 1st. haha... Enjoy your trip
