Hi guys, any recommended sites to use to book apartments in Tokyo, Shinjuku area for 5 pax. I was told to avoid Airbnb.

Any help will be appreciated smile.gif
*
so far my Airbnb experience in Japan was great, but I didn't stayed in Shinjuku.

guys just would like to double check on check in luggage, whether could i check in a tripod? or i have to hand carry it? thanks =)

Note: I'm travelling via Singapore Airline
*
I check in my big tripod but carry on the small vlogging ones. SQ flights are really good. Enjoy.

Any ramen shop in Fukuoka is way better than in Osaka and Tokyo. Even for same outlet like Ichiran

The best ramen I had in Fukuoka was Hakata Issou. You know this shop is good when even the locals queue for it.

Hakata Issou is really good. Was there a few weeks ago. My 11 yr old said it was way better than Ichiran.

Hi guys. Can we do day trip osaka - amanohashidate. What can we expect there?
*
Based on my experience, it depends on your travel preference. If you are someone who like to chills and enjoy sea breezes, you will find half day is not enough. I rent a bicycle there and cycles to and fro from there. Enjoy the cable car over there and so on. Too bad, I didnt have the time to enjoy the onsen over there.

Tips: there are several ways to go to amanohashidate. My recommendation is to take the hashidate shinkansen to there asap, and enjoy the scenary.
Then when going back, you can take the Kyoto Tango Railway Sightseeing Train, which starts from hashidate to maizuru then back to kyoto.

Yeah, tentatively for autumn vibes. Will do itinerary based on the locations recommended, since can't go both, need to choose. Went to Osaka/Kyoto last year (early Nov), but feels like mid-end of Nov seems better choice. Any recommendation?

Rough idea
Tokyo - Shinjuku/Akibahara/Disney Sea/Studio Ghibli/Hakone
Sapporo - City/Otaru/Noboribetsu/Hakodate

How many days you intend to stay? For me better tokyo, so much place to explore and can do side trip to hakone / kawaguchicko also. Tokyo 5days also not enough to cover for me.

KKDay doesn't allow promo code for USJ tickets because it's controlled price unlike Klook which allows.

Do you all have any recommended sites or suggestions on which pass should I get for Kyoto? Should I just stick to to IC card? I'm going crazy soon after reading so many different types of passes. rclxub.gif

We plan to cover all the main Kyoto attractions and maybe one day to Arashiyama. I believe can book online for Sagano Romantic Train but the best view is car no. 5 that cannot be booked online? Any tips on this?

I will spend 2.5 days in Kyoto (includes Arashiyama) and one day in Shiga. For Osaka, I have bought one-day Osaka Amazing Pass. I'm thinking of Kyoto pass (not the Sightseeing pass) that covers Kyoto buses and subways which I can get from Kyoto Station. Good choice?

Also, any pass that I can use for Shiga?

I have not done so much of homework for a trip before and this two-week of Japan trip is slowly draining my energy..

i don't bother reading which pass i would get
because all the pass that i should get are either impossible to collect because of time constaint(due to late arrival) or i will be somewhere else when the office is open
as for the sagano ticket, it's also impossible for me to collect due to i'm using it on day 3 and day 2(full day after arrival), i will be at higashiyama area till very late night
so i can only hope there is ticket from kameoka station toward arashiyama...if not thn i just take the train straight to arashiyama instead of umahori
the kyoto daily bus pass, i calculated that i won't be able to fully use it

so my whole kansai trip, i will just be using PASMO the whole way

I'm not collecting any pass too. Osaka Amazing Pass will be posted to my friend's house in China, we got it from Taobao. Only JR pass needs to collect but we are flexible, can collect on second day, first day almost impossible to do it in KIX. Let's say I'm getting Kyoto pass, need to purchase on the spot from Kyoto Station. I don't like collecting passes too. laugh.gif

If only Japan allows mobile version. laugh.gif

I will probably stick to Icoca too for Kyoto.

for me it's purely
1. i cannot fully utilize them(due to my itinerary)
2. time constraint(cannot collect them)
3. location of collection is not in favour of my itinerary

so i end up did not even plan to use any pass and use pasmo all the way through my trip
sagano train, i just let luck do the part because the days i'm going there is china holiday's week laugh.gif

For within Kyoto itself (including Arashiyama), just use your IC card (ICOCA/PASMO/SUICA).
No stress smile.gif

I'm thinking of getting a Kansai One Pass for my travels in Osaka and Kyoto. I know I can get it at KIX Airport but there's no mention of operating hours as I am arriving at 920pm which is a bit late..

Also I would like to get it at the airport to get discounts for Haruka train to transfer to Osaka

I am curious will you be penalised if you miss your reservation using JR Pass/Tokyo Wide Pass/etc?

Let's say you reserved a 12pm ride. But you missed the ride and you want to take the next ride at 1pm.

Will you be penalised? Will you be barred from the next ride?

And what if you arrived the station earlier and you want to change the reservation to 11am from 12pm instead? Are you able to do that?

Going to Tokyo again this January and this will be my wife's first trip to Japan

Can any sifu give me advice on my itinerary, my idea for this trip is just relax and if miss one or two place also dont mind because Japan is near biggrin.gif

Day 1 (Monday)

Narita
- Arrive 0830, take bag, eat at Narita, buy welcome suica card
- leave around 1030-1100 to Ueno using Keisei Skyliner, hotel is 5 min walk from Ueno station
- drop bag and then explore

Asakusa
- Start going from Ueno to Asakusa around 1200
- Sumida Park
- Sensoji Temple
- Nakamise street
if going to Asakusa is already too late I might just go to Kappabashi and Ueno direct and Asakusa I will just postpone on other days or my next trip, lazy to rush
I might also just go to Asakusa first and then Kappabashi, and then just go to Ueno area except for the museums and garden, hotel and museum just 5 mins away

Kappabashi
- Buy some cooking ware

Ueno
- Tokyo National Museum
- Ueno Garden
- Hard Cock Cafe
- Ameyoko shopping street

Day 2 (Tuesday)

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Harajuku morning till afternoon
- meiji jingu
- yoyogi park
- takeshita street
- shop: kinji, daiso

Day 4 (Thursday)

Morning
Koganei Park
- Edo Tokyo Architectural Museum

Afternoon till evening
Akiba
- M's piap piap shop
- Mandrake
- Super Potato
- Yodobashi Camera

Day 5 (Friday)

Ueno
- Check out, put bag in coin locker as tonight I'm sleeping at Narita area for my next flight, taking keisei skyliner back there
- other plan is might just use Ta Q Bin or Klook service to just send my bag to my hotel in Narita and at night I just pick it up, then after finish jalan Odaiba I just take any nearby transport direct to Narita (big brain time)

Tsukiji Outer Market
- Makan
- Look around

Odaiba

- Team Lab Borderless
- Big ass Unicorn Gundam and Gundam Base Tokyo to buy the clear Gunpla lol
- Sega Joypolis (if sempat)

Narita
- Evening/Night go direct to Narita because saturday flight is on 9.30am so have to sleep here dont want to risk missing my flight
