Planets took us between 1.5 to 2 hours but that's because we just chilled and took lots of photos.
You can breeze through in an hour.

My cousin went to Borderless and it took her around 4 hours without trying.

Odaiba is worth a day trip out, lots to see and shop.
*
Which do you think should be a better experience, Borderless or Planets? Iinm there are only two types in Team Labs Tokyo right?

Will do Odaiba then. Thanks. nod.gif I'm thinking of doing Arakawa City and Kita City too. Don't want to do the usual Shinjuku, Asakusa, Ueno etc this round.

Borderless is a permanent exhibition whereas Planets will finish up next April IIRC.

Planets is shorter and more structured, the experience is pretty immersive as your feet will get wet.
Borderless is longer and less structured meaning more exploring around but no getting wet.

In the end, it's really up to what you want I guess but do Planets first as Borderless will be there in the future.
That's my thought process anyway.

Thanks for your insights bro... will decide on which one to go for. Any way of getting cheap tickets for Team Labs? tongue.gif

Tak sempat.. I probably have about 7 to 8 days only
*
For 7-8 days I would concentrate on only one area. Not much time if you would ask me. Personally I would suggest Osaka-Kyoto if this is your first time to Japan. Why? Because you get to see the best of both worlds. nod.gif

Only means you don't like the city that much. For me, each new city I visit in Japan brings me a new experience. Never get tired or bored of it, don't know why. rolleyes.gif

kobe the experience is like I am in KL
osaka, Shibuya the experience is like I am in SG
Kyoto - new feel different place for me like first time visiting this city

Don't know why the first time visit Tokyo I don't feel as happier as I visit Bali for first time. The new ambience of Tokyo is not there. That is like I have visited Tokyo before.

Next time if I visit Bangkok maybe I will get new ambience/experience?

Different people have different priorities. What RegentCid meant was your rushed through so many places with so many days, so you didnt see much. I prefer to spend mpre time at a place so that I can fully explore the attractions and need not go back to the same place again in the near future.

Chances are you won’t even be allowed to board the flight, 3 months left only leh. My mum last time Vietnam flight 5 months left also wasn’t allowed to board.
*
Lol. I did travelled with a friend who had less than 5 months left on his passport expiration date. The customs officer did question him (I was behind him) and he pleaded. The officer said I can release you but there is no guarantee the immigration from the country you are visiting will allow you through. If they disallow entering the country, my friend would have to buy tickets for the next available flight back to Malaysia. In the end, Thai immigration let him through. So I think this depends very much on luck.

But with Japanesse Immigration, knowing they are so strict with procedures I am pretty sure the chances of them letting one in with less than 6 months on the passport is practically ZERO. laugh.gif

thanks interested feedback from you.
Actually, I felt I was not touch and go in one place. I felt a bit bored in osaka and Tokyo afraid we cannot do anything once all in itinerary covered. what did you do in akihabara during 3 days? I visited big camera only and bought something for my nephew.
in Tokyo I like asakusa(kamirarimon, sumida), yoyogi, ueno Park and meiji jingu gaien area. my based area last time 4 nights was in asakusa.

my next target is hokkaido, my friend said otaru is a must visit list including cycling in biei. she told me biei the best place she ever visited in Japan. Suddenly my expectation is high again.

As many people said that visiting Japan never enough once. every year must visit Japan at least once. these words make my expectation high. when I felt Tokyo and osaka just like I am in singapore road suddenly I am dissapointed.

may I know your view about hokkaido? is that better than your Tokyo trip?
easy kyoto where I feel I am in Japan not in Singapore or KL.  new experience and feelings.
*
Singapore is different bro. Its a city just like Osaka and Tokyo is. But its surroundings are limited and small, not many attractions and places of interests. Pretty much its a boring and expensive place to go. Japan is totally different. The place is huge, with many things unseen in many Asean countries. With four different seasons, going to Japan feels like a different experience every time if you go to new places you have never been to. I never got tired of going to Japan honestly speaking. I just hope their currency goes lower so that it is more affordable. It is also safer than places like Europe or China. At least you know you wont get pick pocketed, mugged and get rip off in tourists scams. laugh.gif

*
Still got plenty of time to get to Osaka by buses or trains.

Climate change I guess. A couple of my skiing acquaintances who decided to go Honshu resorts over Christmas were super upset with the lack of snow 🤷🏻‍♂️
*
Its snowing quite heavily at Hokkaido though. Anyway peak snow period would be end of January to February. Wrong time to go skiing I guess. biggrin.gif

Day 07
* Checked out from The Yuinchi Hotel Nanjo
* Nirai Kanai Bridge (ニライカナイ橋) - The drive over this bridge was spectacular, too bad the driver can't enjoy  tongue.gif
* Sefa Utaki (斎場御嶽) - Important sacred site of the indigenous Okinawan religion
* There's a nice ice-cream shop at the corner of the road with really yummy Blue Seal ice-cream  biggrin.gif
* Cape Chinen Park (知念岬公園) - The park is actually a 5 min walk from where you buy the Sefa Utaki entrance tickets
* Checked into Community & Spa Naha Central Hotel and returned car rental - https://www.communityandspanahacentralhotel.com/en
* Shopping and dinner along Kokusaidori (国際通り)

Day 08
* Checked out from Community & Spa Naha Central Hotel
* Morning flight with ANA into Osaka!

Overall, I felt that Okinawa is worth a visit even if you are not a huge fan of the beach or water activities. Going in November meant that the sea was a bit too cold so we didn't manage to do any of those.

Car rental is a must and it's very easy to drive around. There is not much point in paying for the toll roads as it might save you only 15 mins tops compared to using the freeway.

The local food is quite heavily influenced by Chinese and less Japanese but very tasty nonetheless. The goya champuru (bitter gourd stir-fry with tofu) was my favorite local dish.
*
Nice write up on Okinawa bro. thumbsup.gif Quoting this for future reference. tongue.gif

Any place at Kanto also can?
If plan go Ikaho must rent Toyota GT86.
Then go enjoy Mt Haruna

My Ryokan at Ikaho Onsen was 岸権旅館 (Kishigon Ryokan)
About 20k Yen per night
*
Nice place really.... The are speed bumps / humps purposely built slow you down. Sad to note too that D Racing Garage cum café which houses the Initial D like Café at the foot of Mount Haruna was broken and vandalised recently. The rims of the display cars were stolen and their cars broken into.

Thanks for the feedback.
We are landing on 12 may
According to forecast it should be blooming a week before. Hence why we need to be in sapporo.

The alternative would be the rent the car when we are leaving sapporo.

Would it be possible to share your itinerary any tips would be useful.
Plan to visit hakodate, norobeitsu, biei furano
*
That would be almost all around Hokkaido already. Hakodate is South, Noboribetsu is in central while Biei and Furano is in the East.Unless you have a lot of days there, I would suggest you keep your travel to a few nearby cities and attractions. Car rental would be more suited to if you are travelling to outskirts. Like mentioned, if you plan to go around Sapporo/Otaru and Chitose, then bus/train would be good enough.

Airport transfer are different than Cab/Taxi
Japan Airport transfer are even more expensive than EU, Japan airport transfer all using benz & Alphard, cost you Rm2000 - 5000  brows.gif
Japan taxi are famous for world most expensive.

Same premium taxis that line up the side streets of Ginza.

Yeah... that's around the max but this depends on how many days you are going and whether if it winter or summer.

Just back from my Fukuoka trip. Everything seems normal. No discrimination over Chinese or SEA people noticed. But we have our masks always on because of the coldness.
*
Just got back from my Hokkaido / Tokyo trip. The viral outbreak affected the arrival of tourists on the island quite a bit. So there were lesser crowds even though it was Snow Festival season around Hokkaido. So it was better for us as we need not brave large crowds of people at the attractions daily. I had a chat with one of the Japanesse guides there and he mentioned even many local tourist groups cancelled their trips for fear of catching the virus from Chinese tourists.

Tokyo was packed like usual though. Chinese tourists still make up the majority of the tourist crowd there.

would like to find out details of car rental in hokkaido, can anyone share reliable and cheap options for car rental company

currently looking at Tocoo company for car rental

thanks

Times car rental would be a good choice for Hokkaido. They have a shuttle to pick you up from Chitose Airport to their office not far from the airport. Their prices are competitive too.
