Human attention to certain senses are limited. If you watching movie, your concentration would be on graphics while your hearing attention level would be drop, you might not hear the difference. If you listening on music you better get the SHP2700 or SHP8900.

Philips optical drive laser head is the world most advance, that is why they are easily found on those high end CD player.
Philips also one of the world largest speaker driver maker, is not that hard to make good headphones for Philips but the world wide market not really pay attention to this brand but only Germany, that is why also Philips pampering Germans with tonnes of new product but only available for them.

HP890 replaced by SHP895.
SHP895 replaced by SHP8900.

It was two generations older product, no longer in the market and all the product selling on shelf consider EOL.

It is very hard for manufacturer to push down the limit while maintaining the quality. Philips has very good record for not boasting their specification they are honest, humble price company. That is why they are the big brand in Germany market which is what Germans expecting.
