Anyone here still using good old silver set top box watching Unifi TV? Here's what happenned. Dunno if you guys have same problem.

TM annouce they upgrade STB's OS. Once upgraded, i found that the system lag when changing & manuvering between channel. Like you put in channel number, it take almost 5 second to change. Also, because of this I'm unable to turn off using remote. I have to switch off power. Wifu loves all current channel. Mine is jumbo pack.

If i were you, what do you do?

1. Throw, buy new unifi box from shopee (but not all channel in HD & afraid it will interupt internet speed. Old one use dedicated speed and mostly HD)
2. Throw, buy android box from shopee (lost all wifu favourite channel, not a fan of Netflix Iflix Kodi Spotify)
3. Change plan (totally not like it. Expensive than my current one. RM159 full channel 100mbps)
4. Let it be (which is laggy)

You mean PlayTV? Oh. Can i know :
- any Android TV box can install it? Cause i heard some box didn't get along with Unifi apps
- if I use, does it have all channel as my current package? Mine is full pack
- does it require ID and password? Well you know silver STB don't have such thing

I decided to get a set of Android box

Happened to me right after TM upgrade STB software.

My Android TV box just arrived. Soon i plug out STB and put in Android box.

Tried so many times install PlayTV but still come out message "failed to play the content". Even I unroot it, still same

Finally PlayTV can use.

Before this, i unroot but half way. At last I've fully unroot the devices. PlayTV won't work with rooted box so for anyone that want to use Unifi TV on TX6, must unroot first. Go Google it and it will show how to do it.

Yesterday test on monitor. Tonight will plug into TV. Can't wait too for wireless keyboard ordered yesterday

Hahaha. PlayTV in my Android box for me a bit dissatisfied. Good old STB have much much high quality

Same here. On my silver STB, everything laggy.

Still, picture quality hands down. So i keep my android box in my drawer until STB kaput

Hi all,

Just now i discover that STB silver box O/S now has been switched back to previous version. Now no lag at all and can switch off using remote like normal. I guess TM hear the countless complain about it.

Anyone here that using silver or white STB please try. See if you guys got or not

Since yesterday my STB silver did not play any channel. Only can go browse mode. I've restart everything but same. Looks like my STB dying.

Time to switch to android box.

Oh. I've switch to android box just now. Had play.tv inside already. Now watching news. I miss my STB. Picture quality are superb than play.tv apps

Now, how do i change channel between channel? Each time i wanna change, need to exit 1st, scrolling up or down then select other channel; which is quite annoying

Just curious. Can android tv use that dedicated port?

Some say updated version causing this problem while previous version better.

I google up this problem. Most user posted this problem into Unifi community forum and it seems TM didn't fix it. Like they do not want to help or answer
