I assume (and hope) the lagging that we are feeling now using the current white STB would be fix with the new STB which is way faster (and hopefully more responsive). Yup, missing the blue button function that can be use to view all channels but can still view all by using the ‘Guide’ button. When clicking the ‘Menu’ button, there seem to be iflix in the ‘Apps’ section but can’t seem to install it. Looking forward for UHD channels since manage to purchase a 4k TV during the Black Friday sale

Hi, just wanted feedback from people here. I'm currently using unifi 500Mbps (Turbo Upgrade 2018) with Ultimate Pack package. Currently paying RM242.75 with 6% SST included. Comparing my current plan with the new 300Mbps, these are the difference between those 2:
Features - Current - New
1) Price - RM242.75 - RM210.94 2) Speed - 500Mbps - 300Mbps 3) Talktime - Unlimited - 600 minutes talk time 4) PlayTV apps - 2 devices - 5 devices 5) Box - Unifi - 4K Unifi +
Looking all this, I assume it would be more beneficial if I take the new plan. Just that have to renew 2 year contract. Do advise. TQ
P/S: Not worry about Netflix and Youtube as view it using my current SmartTV

QUOTE(eMKs @ Jan 16 2020, 09:28 AM) Can you confirm this? I somehow think that TM will still charge additional RM10 per month after 24 month end. Just that we're no longer tied to contract. If TM still charge, how to cancel it other than change to a new package or terminate Unifi? Online with the Sales Specialist. Only up to 24 months

QUOTE(cucubud @ Jan 15 2020, 01:06 PM) Go for it if you don't need the 500Mbpb speed. If you seldom make calls, cancel the Talktime. Save another RM20 per month. Never knew about this. If that's the case, I just might maintain my current plan, add the Unifi TV Plus and just cancel the Talktime. Thanks for the tip

The TM guy just came just now and install the Unifi Plus Box. He doesn’t seem so sure with the installation as this is only his 2nd time so we explore it together. These are my findings so far:
1) Unifi Plus Box can be connected via Wifi compared to my older Unifi White Box. It connected to LAN3 on the router if want to use via wired.
2) The remote on Unifi Plus Box has no number and no mosaic list of channel. U have to scroll down and right to pick the channel. There is also no info or option to pick subtitle. Hopefully they will fix this with updates similar like the white box.
3) Most of the channel look a bit blurry as most of them don’t support 4k quality yet so have to change the resolution back to 1080p 60kz so it look more clearer.
So since already bought it, I use the new Unifi Plus Box on my old TV which doesn’t support 4k for now and use my old Unifi white box on my living room 4k TV cos it is pretty tiresome to scroll in picking the channel. Once more channels support 4k quality then maybe I’ll switch them.

QUOTE(MrSpeedy @ Jan 19 2020, 03:31 PM) tl:dr It's a friggin ATV UnifiTV version. Don't waste your money on that thing. Better buy a ATV box which have superior specs (not to mention 100% 4k Netflix support) eg: Mi Box S Then you can install modded UnifiTV ATV version on that box. Yeah, learned that the hard way. What Love Nature in 4k yet still look blurry. It’s more clearer in 1080i 50kz than in 4k quality. Maybe I’ll try again tonight

QUOTE(AV_2018 @ Jan 19 2020, 04:04 PM) Can you check the bitrate of the Love Nature channel when watching on new black STB? Because here I see that this channel is clear 1080i on white STB on Unifi but is blurry and only 977kbps on the playTV (com.tm.playtv) app on my phone. Even SD channels are supposed to be 1.9Mbps on phone app while HD channels should be 4.8Mbps. Not so sure about bitrate but on the New Black STB, I've tried changing the display resolution to 4k2k-50hz (3840x2160/50p) but it still blurry (Love Nature channel 502 which supposedly support 4k). I even change it to it's optimal resolution which is 4k2k-60hz (3840x2160/60p) but still blurry. Now I compare with Youtube 4k quality video and the difference is like night and day. Heck, I even change back to the White STB with 1080i-50hz (1920x1080/50i) and it still clearer compare to the 4k quality. It could be the upscaling but dunno. Maybe my configuration is wrong or my TV or maybe TM have yet to optimise the 4k setting but it is quite dissapointing. Hopefully more updates to fix this issue.

QUOTE(eclectice @ Jan 20 2020, 11:43 AM) The new Unifi TV box seems to support multi-room usage due to its WiFI only support up to 5 boxes if you want (HyppTV app limitation using the same account) and no longer needs separate VLAN setting (no wired LAN anymore). In this setup, you need a better performing WIFI router to handle the total bandwidth. Yes, my old white STB I still use on my living room with 4K TV while the new black STB I put it inside my room with my old non-4k LED TV. I use a Wifi Extender so the Wifi can reach the room without using any cable (have to use the 2.4Ghz wifi though). Have to say the wifi for the black STB is quite good as it can detect the wifi faster and more stable compared to my old non-4k LED TV. That's my setup for now until more verified 4k channels is out for Hypptv then maybe I'll switch the STB.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jan 20 2020, 12:47 PM) he already commented... last page. u missed reading many posts! Hey, thanks for noticing Even though the Black STB can support up to 4k2k-60hz (3840x2160/60p), but the channel is blurry where you could see the jagged edges on the text which shows the channel is not 4k yet. So the technician that came to install the Black STB inform me that for now have to change the resolution to 1080i-50hz (1920x1080/50i) to see a clearer image which is pretty much the same resolution for the White STB. The good side of the Black STB that it is Wifi Enable STB and the Wifi is quite receptive though the interface is backward compared to the White STB which has Mosaic View (which I prefer for now).

QUOTE(cucubud @ Jan 20 2020, 01:02 PM) Thanks for your update again. One question, why do you use 1080i and not 1080p? Well, it was the standard for the White STB. Not much difference between those two anyway though these articles suggest 1080p https://help.channel5.com/hc/en-gb/articles...080p-and-1080i-But 4k, now that you can see the difference. Was expecting similar like the 4k videos in Youtube or at least close, but no cigar

Was thinking hard what did I do wrong. In my smartphone Unifi Apps I could watch the Liga Super Channels, the same goes for my Unifi Plus Box but I can’t manage to find it in my White Unifi Box. After I clear the cache data, finally able to see 😁

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Oct 1 2021, 08:30 AM) https://lionsgateplay.com/ This one is in Eng for me Nope. Viu needs email to work. Unifi gave you @unifi only. I have emailed TM support about this Yup, same here. I've use my email address for my unifi registration but end up got the free user only. Guess have to wait for Viu.

QUOTE(vamfire @ Oct 1 2021, 09:53 AM) Installed viu app in phone & checked my account status is already activated in the app... Visited viu.com using phone browser & checked my account status also activated... Both accessed through unifi fibre internet line... The problem now is when I try to pair my tv through viu.com, it require login using email format, @unifi is not valid Oh, perhaps it's similar like BBC Player where it need Unifi connection. Will try once back home.
