The latest TVS channel has insignificant fps happening since its launch. Originally it’s 25fps, using VLAN.

Not really watch that Sarawak channel, I try and see and see I have the same issue or not.

May I know the UPB box is plug n play? Or need to do settings (log in unifi acc) or more technical stuffs?

Yes, it's a plug-and-play device. You can refer to the following setup from Unifi's YouTube video here:



Of course, an internet connection is required to begin with. Basically, you only need to sign in to your Google account (since it's now a pure Android TV box) and also your Unifi TV login credentials to start streaming content on the app.

This is the current 2023 packaging of the Unifi TV Box v2 Hybrid. Also appearing is Unifi Plus Box v1's 2020 packaging at the back:



Netflix app is now pre-installed into the UPB v2 Hybrid, besides the Unifi TV native app. Unfortunately, you can only Disable other pre-installed streaming apps that you don't use in Settings since the Uninstall button isn't clickable when you long-press the app icon.

Bear in mind that the current Android TV 12 update on UPB is also modified by TM, hence access to sideload apps from third-party sources besides Play Store (aka "unknown sources" settings) is no longer allowed.

Happened to me on every channel for VLan 600....for normal Vlan500 through wifi, no hiccup at all...kinda sad really....Unifi especially TM supposedly should focus more for quality of service, they actually bigger than Astro!

They wanted to when they introduced the 1st UPB....but some people still prefer the white stb since its has nicer quality and the OTT just sucks in general, at least the early days...I remember around 2021 the OTT Unifi TV has much lower quality especially fast moving objects, it will be blocky! Seems better now !

Well, MyTV Super is made for HK viewers while TVB Anywhere+ is for everyone outside HK. Some countries actually carry more than 5 TVB channels compared to TVB Anywhere+ Malaysia. Instead of asking Unifi TV to bring in MyTV Super, you should suggest them to bring in the TVB linear channels like TVB Jade, TVB Xing He, TVB Classic, Asian Action Channel and more. They will never bring in the MyTV Super app unless TVB rebrands the current international app with their HK app's name. Also, the HK one has a lot of titles, which have been regionally licensed by Astro and other channel providers like KBS World, ONE, etc. Some of the non TVB titles licensed by MyTV Super are being aired on TVB Magic on Astro, like the J-drama and Thai drama.

i get hiccups on ALL of them, not always, only some channels.

and... one show on HBO family hasn't got this hiccup; the next one on same channel does.

which makes me suspect it's due to various diff video fps that unifitv somehow accepted since the beginning.

the upbv2 has a setting to smoothen this "seamlessly" but it doesn't work.

now, i mainly watch news on unifitv, prefer to use the main VOD apps.

well when i talked with TM staff , he did told me that TM have instructed TM technician trained to recommend use vlan500 ethernet port for unifi tv especially for black box.
if vlan500 internet port unavailable , second way would be using wifi. vlan600 iptv port would be strictly for legacy box which TM technician may offer free new box with 2 year contract in courtesy when on site which i assume that was part of plan to close vlan600 port eventually.

They only acknowledge the hiccup is happen thru vlan600 for new box hence the advise above.
If not vlan600 port issue , you may need to check the ONU signal level which may cause the hiccup. Need call tech onsite for this.

For me , since i paying the unifi tv monthly , no exceptable that I watching all live channel with interruption every 3mins. Funny thing is vlan600 works smoothly for VOD.
Just like Ast** previously , cant watch during rain when legacy gen, i keep complain till they fedup and recommend discount or quit with penalty waive.

Anyone here watches Bernama TV.

Since change to the new Unifi TV Box from the white box, i can't timeshift Bernama TV. Other TV channels okay.

I am always 1/2 hour late when the english news airs.

Alternatively, you can try download the MYTV Mana-Mana app and stream Bernama TV via Cast to your UPB instead. It also has 7-days Catch-up and it’s 1080p. No need to sign-in.

Yes , had the similar problem, when using the vlan 600 connection through new V2 android hybrid black box. I even called tm technician to visit home to identify the problem of the lag 2-3 minutes , but was still unable to resolve it. They had to ask another/ higher senior technician and finally got know that they already given up on maintaining or upgrading the vlan 600 port connection, and planning to closing it soon. So they suggested to use vlan 500 or WiFi connection.

However, there is trick to prevent the stuttering of the image, but only works for channel that can pause or have time shift options.
If you pause the channel for few seconds and press play to give few seconds delay from the live view, there will be no lag or stuttering anymore when viewing the channel.

Yes , been told the same thing, the trick make sense too since vlan600 too slow that we need pause and allow the buffering and cont back the play.

Funny thing is vlan600 work perfectly for vod but so worse to live channels.

Like not everything the actor says came out in sub like in between some sentences nothing came out

Usually vendor hired by tv channel to handle the timings of the sub. So very norm when a scene have a lot of blabbering dialogue , vendor lazy to sub that scene manually. Or else the sub material used really cancel that particular time.
