1st May, Zee Cinema as a part astro movies subscription replace BollyOne HD.
Zee Cinema is good channel Hindi Movies. why unifi tv move out this Hindi Channel.
*
If I'm not wrong, both Unifi TV and Astro ceased their ZEE channels due to broadcasting rights issues. Also, Unifi TV licensed the Zee channels from YuppTV instead of paying Zee to carry the signals. On the other hand, Astro forks out more money to get the direct feed from them. But recently, a change of practice is going on with Unifi TV as they stopped licensing channels from YuppTV, which resulted in the cessation of a lot of Indian linear channels on the platform, including Polimer, Colors Hindi and Sony channels. The ones you currently watch on Unifi TV are direct feed licensed from and provided by Sony India, Zee India and Viacom 18 India.

If Unifi TV wants to get more quality Indian channels, the only way is to pay more to the channel providers from India instead of 3rd party channel distributors like YuppTV. Bare in mind that both ways are legal, but just the channel owners don't like the old way. That's all.

Plus, it's very unfair to compare Unifi TV with Astro. Astro is offering Zee Cinema to Movies Pack (around RM 90) and ala-carte purchase viewers only, but you want Unifi TV to bundle it under Varnam Plus Pack (RM30). What kind of logic is that?

If unifi tv wants addons Zee Cinema, this channel not under Varnam Pack but is under Ultimate Pack Subscribers or can ala carte.😊

The Varnam pack already comes with Simply South app which has the best and latest south indian esp Tamil movies. Big catalogue also

For rm30…. Come on…

To further support your argument, all Astro in-house Indian channels - Astro Vaanavil, Astro Vellithirai, Astro Vinmeen and Astro ABO Thangathirai license South Indian movies, which release first on SimplySouth before they premiere on these channels.

One thing that SimplySouth lacks is that the app doesn't have any Hindi movies considering South Indian movies are in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

For Hindi movies fans, you can check out ShemarooMe. One more thing, if you prefer Zee5 app over SimplySouth app, just switch it on Unifi TV Streaming App page. By doing so, you'll get access to all the Zee5 linear channels and VOD titles.

It seems like something new is heading to Unifi TV. The Unifi TV FAQ page is down now.

Link: https://unifi.com.my/tv/support/unifitv

The page usually has a section, which states what's launching and what's cessing on the platform. tongue.gif

Does the Astro's cost-cutting version of Zee Cinema still excite you or you'll still think that Unifi TV not getting the channel (normal Asia feed) is still better than Astro feed?

In my opinion, the reason Astro launches its Zee Cinema feed to license every single movie it shown on the channel because the typical Asia feed doesn't allow them to do so. Like how Celestial Movies has more than 100 movies every month, but only some of them are available to stream through Astro VOD.

I'm just hoping most of the HD downscale to SD channels to be revised to HD back.

If you using unifi TV apps den there is no way to fix. As in its Android apps.

Not sure about Unifi UltraBox, if there is no issue then its seems like their engineering / programming team is focus on their ultra box and extensive RnD on that box only, which means only focus on that box chipset only rather than their apps for universal hardware.

Seems like they force us to use their UltraBox rather than other box / smartTV / smartphone etc.... That's my thoughts, correct me if wrong.

There are no fixes, the app is just garbage, I have to restart the box almost daily now, because when the app crashes it'll take down the entire box with it.

The app runs like crap on the official box (I have the 2nd gen box, the hybrid one).

yeah, which is one reason I still hold on using the old white box. And this is why I don't recommend the app for older generation to use sweat.gif
