I agree with most of your listed points. As for your last point, you can actually contact Unifi via social media or by visiting their outlets to switch to the latest packs, which probably come with the new UPB box. The default subtitles and audio track features seem to be exclusively available via Unifi PlayTV, which remembers your previous choices of subtitles and audio tracks even you have relaunched the app. I find it weird of how they don't integrate that feature into the UPB and TV version.-Fix the quality of video and app issue, error code and ect.

As for the technical issues (like picture quality and error codes), the team should forge out some money to develop a stable app, which will eventually solve their problem for a long term.
You don't need to be fret about OTT apps, Netflix and discounts because the Unifi TV team is doing a pretty good job at this part of field. I'm looking forward to upcoming apps like HBO + Discovery app (name to be determined), Paramount+ and more vernacular app like Siar, Aha (Tamil) and Vidol TV (Taiwan).
