Paramount Network will cease broadcasting across Asia on 1st April, 2024. It seems like Paramount+ will launch soon across Southeast Asia. 😁

Are you sure about that?

They actually plan to launch it across Asia this year. I think they're doing what Disney was doing back then. You know, ceasing the linear channel and forcing everyone to get the app.

Not sure yet. They refuse to say anything about any possible replacement, though.

DEGUP will start sub-licensing some action/thriller/horror movies from the HBO Asia movie library next month. The first movie will be Unhuman (2022), which will premiere next Sunday at 10 PM.

If MAX replaces HBO GO in the region one day, then Unifi TV will do the same, too.

Btw, Unifi eSports (CH 702) will launch on the platform soon to showcase ACS EDU Tour Season 3. They should carry more live sporting events on Unifi Sports, though.

Not for now though. I reminisced when then HyppSports HD was carrying decent sports content like ICC & NASCAR.
*
That's because HyppSports was owned by both Unifi and Sports Illustrated back then. It's Sports Illustrated who provided the coverage of those American sports coverage back then. I have suggested Unifi TV to team up with someone else this time to boost Unifi Sport's sports coverage. It's completely up to them whether they want to take my advice or not. Btw, I'm not an insider or working for them at all.

Debuts next month? Just new bundled pack, no new channels?

They recently shared a video on FB mentioning this. Also, Unifi eSports (CH 702) will be launched before the end of this September. That's the only confirmed new channel so far.

Max’s official pricing is available in Malaysia come Nov 19, 2024. Current HBO GO subscribers via Unifi TV will likely get Max Standard by default.

If wanna subscribe standalone, monthly and yearly plans start RM34.90.

VIU on astro only RM4.50/ month. Very cheaper price.
*
Sensasi has been airing selected Viu originals for a few months now.

Also, Global Trekker On Demand has replaced Smithsonian Channel On Demand a few days ago. Don't think they have any plan to bring in its linear channel anytime soon. I actually hope that they can bring in Discovery channels since MAX is coming this November. Maybe they will rely on the app instead of the linear channels this time.

But not on ABC Australia and some others: now Jelli, CCTV-4, CGTN. CCM isn’t broadcast in HD to begin with. Idk why Unifi TV liddis
*
First of all, CCM doesn't have a HD feed at the moment, and that's why Astro still has it in SD. As for why SETI gets the HD treatment, I think it has to do with viewership. Back in 2018, they downgraded all Chinese channels while upgrading TVB8 to HD, which had been ceased within the same year. At that time, TVB8 was the no. 1 Chinese channel on Unifi TV due to its line-up of programs. For Chinese channels, I only watch Celestial Movies and SETI. I'm not interested in variety shows or news programs from Mainland China at all. I don't consider the drama series showing on CCTV-4 watchable like the ones on streaming apps from Mainland China. Unifi TV should launch a dedicated in-house channel for quality Chinese drama series.

PS: I don't work for Unifi TV, and these are just my opinions.

I hope I can at least finish watching the Running Man episode tonight. They run for 90 minutes at least, which will make the end time past midnight.
*
Well, ONE will be ceased at 6 AM, so you will probably be able to catch Running Man.

My best guess is, ONE has a low viewership for Unifi TV?  hmm.gif
As for Zee Thirai, probably some last minute changes on agreement between the channel provider  biggrin.gif
*
You're right. tvN is the most-watched Korean GE channel on the platform at the moment. I seriously don't understand why ONE has lower viewership than K-Plus.

I hope they'll remove the extra "letterbox" for Zee Thirai, though.

Well, ONE used to be the most expensive Korean GE channel. Not sure whether that's still true these days since they rarely premiere expensive drama series from SBS for quite some time now.

They'll get more if their BeIN Sports & SPOTV quality looks better than astro one.

Unifi TV needs more TV channels and secures more sporting events' rights. Can't stand the other TV provider hoarding everything major, like EPL, BWF, NBA, AFC, etc. πŸ˜’
