Mate 20 Pro is newer and better phone, unless you need S-pen and headphone jack, then Note 9 is a better choice.

What about the chips between snapdragon and kirin? i heard my friend said snapdragon is more reliable than kirin. Is it true?

You won't be getting the SD chip if you buy the Note 9 in Malaysia. You get an Exynos 9xxx, can't remember the number.

The performance is similar to the SD except it loses out in the graphics performance. The advantage is it is more power efficient.

At the moment, top Kirin/Exynos/SD chips don't have much performance difference between them if you're using it for gaming and daily tasks. You'll only see the difference in benchmarks.

I think the Kirin processor is touted for its AI capabilities. Never read up much about it.

In Australia the Note 9 is selling at 200 to 300 cheaper than mate20pro,its an older phone, probably won't get much updates, and overall spec is lower

If you don't need SPen, there's no reason to choose note9

The footprint is bigger but screen ain't necessary bigger, we also don't get snapdragon

Mate20pro is more power efficient, one full charge can last me 2 days
It also charges fucking quick, by the time I finish one episode of documentary, it has gone from 30% to 100%, I think that high power charging brick really helps
Overall looks better than note9
Camera wide angle helps in a lot of situation

The only advantage of note9 is the pen, get it only when you need the pen

Note 9 :: S-pen. packed power features good for daily use. Dual stereo dolby surround speaker, nice screen. If you watch youtube or shows alot on your phone, this is the right device. No regret. Camera is great during daytime. Shots are sharp and detail

Mate 20 pro :: insane battery stamina. better processor. Camera capable of lowlight shots. if you use your phone just for normal messaging, browsing, and gaming, this is the phone for you. the great battery stamina and efficient processor would keep longer away from the charger. even if you need to charge up the device, it charges up faster.

You may want to consider the OP6T Mclaren edition as an alternative pick. software updates are much better compared the listed two.
