LELAKI maut dalam keadaan tragis apabila digilis beberapa kenderaan menyebabkan tubuhnya hancur di Kilometer 274.3, Lebuhraya Utara Selatan, arah utara, berhampiran Kawasan Rehat dan Rawat (R&R) Seremban, hari ini.

Dalam kejadian jam 5.40 pagi itu, G Muniandy, 50 melintas jalan menuju ke R&R itu kerana motosikal yang ditunggangi kehabisan petrol.

Ketua Polis Daerah Nilai, Superintendan Mohd Nor Marzukee Besar berkata, mangsa dilanggar sebuah Perodua Myvi dari arah Seremban menuju Nilai yang tidak menyedari mangsa melintas jalan.

“Kereta itu yang berada di lorong paling kanan tidak sempat mengelak lalu merempuh lelaki berkenaan.

“Mangsa tercampak di atas jalan sebelum digilis beberapa kenderaan lain," katanya.

Mohd Nor Marzukee berkata, kejadian itu menyebabkan seluruh tubuh mangsa hancur.

“Polis yang menerima panggilan orang awam bergegas ke lokasi. Mereka kemudian dibantu bomba dan Angkatan Pertahanan Awam (APM), lebih dua jam masa diambil bagi mengutip cebisan tubuh mangsa,” katanya.

Beliau berkata, mayat mangsa dibawa ke Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar (HTJ), di Seremban.

Menurutnya, pemandu Perodua Myvi berkenaan, A Tharmendra, 30, cedera di tangan.

“Kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 41 (1) Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987,” katanya.

Menurut Mohd Nor Marzukee, pihaknya turut menemui motosikal milik mangsa yang diletakkan 30 meter dari lokasi kejadian selain sedang mengesan ahli keluarganya yang menetap di Mantin

Even if you are stuck with an empty tank, the right thing to do is to call your insurance emergency line, tell them about your petrol problem and they will come for free (im using Allianz) with the petrol (chargeable). There was no need to cross a 4-lane highway on foot, and doing it twice. What's on the other side of the road anyway, and what was he thinking? To get petrol? Perhaps, but it is clear it wasn't the best decision.

Motor has no insurance? Color me ignorant. So if they hit my car, what would happen? Whom do I claim from? If they are do not have insurance to protect their liabilities, why am I sharing the same road with them? Even ugly and old cars are required to get a 3rd party insurance to protect against the drivers' liabilities to the 3rd party that they have wronged.

My brother's bike broke down along the highway last time. Called the help line, they came and help to load the bike onto their truck and sent it to the toll exit FOC.

So please use this when needed, instead of risking your life.

Yesterday was driving on Akleh towards KLCC this 1 bike ride on the dotted line in the middle of 2 lane travelling around 40-50km/h.

It’s a 2 lane road, end up building up traffic, bcs other vehicle cannot pass him on the right nor the left.

He continued to do that even when it’s already 3 lane. Pretty annoying this kind of people.

Now we know that many moto dont have road tax

So I was right. I am not trying to pound on the victim or victim family's miseries, but there were other things that he could have done to avoid the problem (by having enough petrol before entering the highway) or to solve the problem (by calling the right help instead of trying to get it done himself) which he did not do. Now other road users have to pay for his mistakes, including PTSD on the road users especially the red Myvi, emergency services resources, delays to other road users

If I am not mistaken, the highways near Seremban R&R (which is where he wanted to go to) is an 8-lane highway, 4 on each side. That stretch is also very busy with cars (hence the 4-lane expansion completed a few years ago), and not very well-lit (as per all highways) - regardless of the lighting condition, he did wrong by trying to cross over.

Most likely the person was on the red side of the highway, trying to get to the R&R

lucky u. last time my bike broke down, call plus, they put my bike behind the rail guard and send me to nearby toll exit.

and they told me to come pick my bike before night, it was not safe there probably my bike will get stolen if i left it there overnight

Moto should at least get a 3rd party insurance, failing of which they can be held personally liable if they bang other motorists. If a moto bank a Mecelis E keras 300, the damage is quoted at RM8k (the tail lights, bumbper, etc), can the motocyclist afford this out of pocket?
