QUOTE(Melto @ Dec 24 2019, 09:52 AM) Hi, Sifus IPTV is the service(offered via app).Is it the same with IPTV and android box? I am a noob in all this. Having a infinite tvbox but unable to watch any show nowadays...can I reset it and hope it works again or get a android box Tx3 instead? Android box is the machine/computer. You need a computer to install and enjoy the service. Well you could even install the apps on your phone if the apps is available for your phone. |

I'm interested in this the best bang for bucks box tx3.
I'm looking at s905x3 variant. Latest one right? Seems like the popular recommendation is get from this oversea seller. But, I found local seller selling same box preinstalled with stuff and actually cheaper than oversea. Seems like better to buy from this local seller. Right? Asking first before pulling the trigger just in case my thinking is wrong |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 24 2020, 12:27 AM) the app is not in playstore. Yes I'm getting 4+32GB. Seems more than enough(unless the system itself already took more than 10GB minus included apps). Got 5GHz WiFi. u get it here, then sideload: https://apkpure.com/astro-go/com.astro.astro both sellers are fine, diff RM10 for 4+32gb. Any other concern I should know? Root/unroot stuff? Is the local seller selllin same thing(rom, root, system and such)+preloaded apps as what's oversea seller selling? Or I need to flash something from freaktab This post has been edited by UnknownH: Apr 24 2020, 12:47 AM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 24 2020, 12:58 AM) not to worry. Thank you, sir. Very helpful. 4+32 is good enough... net of everything, u still have >20gb. the 5ghz is N, not AC.. it is not so good.... overall, the wifi module is rather weak... best u use LAN cable esp if yr speed not high. under settings, u find an root switch to on/off.... just click on it. I don't know what do people ask seller other than min speed required. Still new to these stuffs. This post has been edited by UnknownH: Apr 24 2020, 01:17 AM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 24 2020, 01:28 AM) i have bought from both sellers, both are knowledgeable and helpful. I don't use astro so not an issue. Just Netflix and some "apps". Maybe unifitv as well. And MyIPTV. just ask them to install the updated popular apps - there is plenty of space. astrogo, if it is not current version, u just have to get it yrself (link given earlier) and sideload it after closing root. u will need a mouse to use the box well - any wireless mouse will do. Already have RM15~ mini keyboard, square-ish with touchpad. Should be fine. This post has been edited by UnknownH: Apr 24 2020, 01:42 AM |

Just got my tanid tx3
Silly question here. Can I plug in 3.5mm, normal earphones to the back the box? And just checking. What apps/method you guys use for auto shutdown? Would like to set some sort of timer so kids won't throw tantrum if it off automatically instead of me doing it. This post has been edited by UnknownH: May 15 2020, 10:26 AM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ May 16 2020, 10:08 PM) tx3 s905x3: if i remember correctly, that jack is a 3.5mm earphone jack, should work, try it. auto shutdown - no such feature. but u can activate and set a screen saver - in settings, i think. tx3 s905x3 sold out? try these: https://shopee.com.my/%E3%80%90New%E3%80%91...9925.6506471132 https://shopee.com.my/TX3-Android9.0-TV-Box...2295.4608625088 i recommend 4+32gb. no, it is not plug n play. u need to install, maintain apps. chat with seller, ask for help before u buy. the box is empty originally, has only the firmware and some utility apps. if u buy it like that, it is surely legal. but if u buy a box where the seller put in illegal apps, incl paid (by you) ones, that wud be considered illegal. like yr phone, u buy empty, legal. if u buy it with porn n pirated stuff inside, surely illegal. it means the box came w/o the mentioned apps installed. u will need to install yrself. diff apps do diff things. if u hv astrogo id/pw, install this apk: https://apkpure.com/astro-go/com.astro.astro if u do not know how to install, best to talk to someone who knows, guide u thru. hard to describe in words if u haven't done it before. QUOTE(password8431 @ May 17 2020, 03:13 AM) I have tested the 3.5mm AV port some time back. My bad. That port at the back is marked spdif. Definitely not plug and play 3.5mm audio In summary, it works but flawed. I think the port is meant for AV cable with Video and Audio (L,R), and not meant for Audio output alone. I tried with the normal earphone (without mic), and I had to adjust the plug insertion to get the proper sound on the left and right side. Even then, I felt I am not getting Stereo sound. It is more like mono sound duplicated on both speaker. I tried with the earphone (with mic) that has 4 part copper on its plug. The result is the same, full insertion don't seem to work. I had to pull the plug out a bit to get proper sound on left and right side. Clearly not ideal and certainly don't seem to be a match. My assumption is the AV port electronic part seems to follow different standard which requires the proper plug (jack). As for Autoshutdown, this feature is usually built into the firmware. We see this in our phones nowadays. As far as I know the tx3 mini don't have this feature inherently. However there are apps that can perform this on the basis that ROOT access is open to which Tx3 mini can allow. Do note if you permanently have Root Access open, then you will encounter difficulty with apps which won't work with Root Access open i.e. AstroGo and Unifi PlayTV I haven't tested it on my Tx3, so I can't confirm. I don't see a problem of Autoshutdown as the system clock is set prior to the shutdown. I foresee a problem with Autostartup if there is one - as the Tx3 mini don't keep time once it is shutdown. Can't comment on Tx3 S905X3, as I don't own one. Maybe will get one after Raya or when the price drops back down. Just looking some cable that maybe can convert that port so I can have 3.5mm audio out separately and plug in 3.5mm aux. Is there such thing/cable? |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ May 17 2020, 04:10 PM) Possible. It says spdif at the port though. Maybe there's 3.5mm to spdif? I don't know. Not familiar with spdif anyway That is not spdif, it is AV.... yellow rca for video, white n red rca for audio left, right. But then I wouldn't trust the colour. Like the person above said, test one by one This post has been edited by UnknownH: May 17 2020, 04:14 PM |

QUOTE(soonwai @ May 17 2020, 09:17 PM) QUOTE(password8431 @ May 17 2020, 11:26 PM) Just checked the specifications, and also checked the back of my Tx3 mini box. Yep. Possible. Mini toslink. Similar 3.5mm aux.Tx3 Mini has AV Port : AV(3 in 1) port (which uses 3.5mm and the one I tested and mentioned in my earlier post) SPDIF: Coaxial(Optical). I believe this uses Toslink https://shopee.com.my/TX3-Mini-Android-7.1-...2295.1428348152 TX3 S905X3 Doesn't seem to have the AV port anymore. Only SPDIF: Coaxial(Optical). https://shopee.com.my/TX3-Android9.0-TV-Box...2295.4608625088 I am not familiar with coax toslink audio connection. Best you ask the seller about their product. Correct me if I am wrong, I believe you are looking for a SPDIF coax to RCA converter to hook the tv box to an old hifi system. I had a look at the Tx3 S905X3 picture, and the SPDIF connection port don't look like the Tx3 mini SPDIF port. So, best to ask the seller. Or wait for others to post their actual box SPDIF connection. Tx3 Mini though has full-size toslink/optical. Interesting take on old MacBook though. Don't headphones normally use 3.5mm aux? I'm not familiar with toslink but they're digital output aren't they? Work with headphones? Just curious. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ May 19 2020, 02:24 PM) u can try it. I asked THE oversea seller. He said and I quote, "dear, it is 3.5mm SPDIF coaxial digital cable". i tried it with a headphone, doesn't work - meaning it is not L/R audio. i doubt it is mini toslink - normally not found on cheap devices. my bet is it is an AV port - video+audio L/R. Nevermind though. I thought of simpler 3.5mm audio output method for my purpose. USB to 3.5mm audio jack |

I'm using this kind of keyboard. Is it me or it really doesn't have dedicated back button like on the remote that comes with Android box(tx3 s905x3)?

QUOTE(password8431 @ Jun 12 2020, 04:58 PM) Back button on the Remote replicated with the Right Mouse Button Key. Thank you!Another button on the IR remote that is not available on the USB remote is the Settings Button. This can only be replicated with Ctrl+Esc I'm not sure how the settings button works though. Clicking the button even on the stock remote doesn't do anything. |
