There are no standard rate really.
But I would say Professional rate is RM150 - RM200. Why? Because if you face problem, they should & have to follow up their work and give you a full solution to your problems if after formatting does not work. That does not factor in hardware problems like HDD bad sector/ bad ram/ motherboard, etc that causes your system not being stable after format. If they can tell you whats wrong for that price, then that guy if competent at his work. If they can catch that problem before the reformat, then that guy really knows what he is doing!!! If someone tells you cheaper than that, those are "cuci tangan" service. Means they do the formatting for you, and you have to deal with whatever problems you face later if the format does not solve your problem. |

I asked a computer shop in town to burn Win10 DVD for me so that I can format myself....but he insisted I bring the PC for them to format.
I have a friend who is also a small computer shop owner, I used to ask him for DVD copy of WinXP and reinstall myself. This post has been edited by mentalhealth.my: Jan 14 2019, 04:40 PM |

Depends how friendly you're with the shop keeper - RM 80-120 is the common range. Depends how quick you wanted it to complete.
