I got the Dir-655 but basicly the only difference between Dir-655 and Dir-635 is that mine has gigabyte networking and Wireless ( draft 2.0 N ).

Other than that it is about the same.

The instalation cd they give is useless, but the router is awesome. I use network magic and cfosspeed with it and my internet has been blazing fast since.

I also leave mine on 24/7 feels slightly warm but it's ok.

Anyway the Dir-855 is the next in this series, it's about the same but it has dual band 5.0 ghz wireless N. The Dir-655 has another hardware you can buy to achieve the same but not sure about the price.
