hi guys, new Redmi Note 7 owner here...

i just bought RN7 about two weeks ago,
its been long time since i owned xiaomi phone.
before this i have Redmi Note 2 which later
i give to my sister to use.

in my opinion, MIUI in the RN7 have improved a lot from past years.
but still cannot surpass the simplicity and fluidity of stock android.
in RN7 the MIUI still stutter and lag a bit, it doesn't feel smooth enough.
maybe there's something wrong with its RAM management.

other phone I've used is Oneplus 1 (backup phone),
and last year release Oneplus 6.
so i'm quite familiar with the usage of MIUI OS and normal android os.
its also common for me to try out different custom rom with my phone.

because of that, i tried using custom rom from XDa forum with RN7.
using AOSP extended rom with custom kernel (evira) really made a huge difference.
it brings the phone to a whole different level.
RN7 usage become really an enjoyable experience, no lag or stutter whatsoever.
battery backup is great, 8 to 9 hours SOT with medium usage.

its like using a flagship killer level phone. really buttery smooth.
all the feature are complete for a mid range phone.
and without realizing i seems to be liking this phone more than my OP6.
i'm using it a lot more often too.
never thought that with mid specs only, this phone can be this good.
the price is cheap enough for this kind of performance.
Rm700 vs rm1700, this RN7 is really has a lot of value for money.

for me, by using RN7 features combined with SD730/SD710, amoled screen, sony imx 5-series, with android One.
would become a perfect budget phone for RM 1k-ish prices. be it as a daily driver or for gaming purposes.
Mi 9t also a good choice but no sd card slot and headphone jack, a bit of a let down for me.
