Hi all

Im using car dashcam Xiaomi Mijia.
Am getting headache

I bought the cam.
Bought sd card sandisk separately.

Then got error, go for warranty dashcam replacement.
Then another error, go for sandisk replacement.
Done resetting the cam, as well as formatted the sdcard few times.

As of now i think its the sdcard problem not camera issue.
Error as below.

After quite a research, i found out this sd card below is compatible and suitable for dashcam r/w rate.
Is it ok?
Problematic or not?
Anyone using same?
Or u have better recommendations?

Have you tried other SD cards to see if the problem persists?

Recommend you go for high endurance cards specifically made for dashcam and CCTV. Using Sandisk high endurance now
*
how long been using that?
after 1st time format for dashcam use, any other time need format?
Any issue?

From my experience SanDisk normal ones will be gone within 1 month, Samsung evo will last around 1 year
*
u mean, any sd only lasts around 1 year?
then need to buy new one or how?

i thought sd supposed to last until severe cases (broken, burnt, lost) only
sigh

Avoid Sandisk SDcard for Dashcam. Samsung or Toshiba will be a better choice
*

accoding to website, any class10 up to 64gb
basically anything is sufficient.

have u tried to reformat the tf card?
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/
*
yep reformatted few times alrdy
using the dashcam built in format function (those appear upon dashcam startup after first setup)

scared to format few more times to prevent sdcard permanent corrupt

I never liked SanDisk. Sometimes can't write, need to reformatted. I'm using Kingston, old 16GB. I heard Samsung Evo not bad and quite stable.
Other than that it could be just too hot, that your gadget can't be used. Let it cool down a bit.

FYI these budget or affordable dash cam, after 1 year stand by... By 2nd year sure the date cannot hold, battery kembang/bloated. In the end i buy new dashcam, capacitor type. More expensive but hope can last longer.
*
how to know battery/capacitor type?

not really,

to be safe, buy "class 10 MicroSD", if you're recording in 4k, buy "class 10 U3 MicroSD"

try not to take microSDHC or microSDXC..
*
difference of MicroSD & MicroSDXC?

There's a limited endurance for each sd card..

If you read the fine print for the warranty, usually warranty will be void if you use for continuous recording

Was disappointing also when I found out
*
luckily mine can get replacement even use in dashcam lol

Sandisk Extreme series and Samsung Pro Plus is a bit too much to use in Mijia dashcam or any dashcams. Unless you're talking about Premium dashcams then you'll something that level.

Get the Samsung Evo Plus is good enough for dashcam use.

Here is some of my cards that's I've used for my reviews

yep true
am not aiming for premium card either
think im going for evo plus

btw, evo+ and evo plus is two different series right?

Did you manage to solve the issue.

I am too have a sensitive car cam. I tried many cards from Kingston, fujitsu, sandisk normal, sandisk ultra, sandisk endurance, and they all fail.

I tried Samsung evo plus it now works butter smooth.
*
I did, as of now.
But using none of the solutions recommended lol.

Previously using sandisk, failed after <1yr.

1. Now use new Samsung Evo Plus 64gb.
2. And i relocate the dashcam position.
Used to put behind rearmirror, bit lower. So i think long exposure to direct sunlight and when left in car under scorching temperature might affect too.
3. Move slightly higher, under black tinted, placed beside of rearmirror, so no direct sun.

Hopefully will resolve the problems.
And you can try too.
