I'm having problems with the patch.mpq file. Having problems trying to defrag this file and it's grown to 1gb of fragmented file. Starting to affect my WoW game a bit, especially in outlands. Using Win XP and there's about 13 MB of free HDD space still. Windows Defrag doesn't seem to be able to defrag this file at all. Any tips guys?

You need to free up to 15% of your hard disk space or a lot more if your hard disk is small. Windows doesn't defrag when u have below 15% free disk space.

hmmm...HDD is partitioned so there's 40MB in total for the main partition. 35% free so that's about 13-14 MB.

I think you better get a bigger hard disk. 40MB is nothing these days.

Heh .. mistakenly put 40GB as 40MB? 40MB is too little to run anything nowadays.

One of the Technical Forum CM recommended using Auslogic Disk Defrag. Maybe you should try it. You can download it at http://www.auslogics.com/disk-defrag/index.php.

Auslogics may be free but it is still a standard defragment program. Diskeeper and UltimateDefrag are the better ones with features that improves your hard disk performance.
