Was MRSM sponsoring IGCSEs for students before, until this parent's post show up? hmm.gif

IGCSE fees seems reasonable compared to IGCSE Centers paying RM 700-800/papers. shakehead.gif
And Each Children need to take atleast >5 subjects, already costs RM 5-8k for Examination Fees alone.... rclxub.gif

MRSM don't let parents to opt out for IGCSE for their children? hmm.gif
Also SPM is free, since paid by PIBG most of the time hmm.gif

Disclaimer : TS doesn't know how IGCSE works in MRSM.

No idea, always been offered for Examinations in Oct/Nov for IGCSE in Form 4.
Basically IGCSE = Form 4 + 5 syllabus with dumb down.

Shouldn't be that hard. Somemore got open marking scheme for students to blindly regurgitate answers to.

igcse if taken at british council or similar set up will cost about rm700 to 1000 per paper. if taken at some international schools which use igcse syllabus it is around rm450 per paper.

those MRSM with IGCSE also same fees of rm450 per paper due to government to government agreement.

so orang kita or not, anybody can actually go kawtim at any international schools to let your kid become exam candidate there. I know one parent who did that. her son taken igcse tuition from private teachers and then the mother kawtim with g***** international school to take exam there and she paid rm450 per paper.

not all mrsm have igcse. only around 11 or 14 out of all mrsm. fees are not sponsored by gomen. parents have to pay themselves. if cannot then they wont apply to mrsm with igcse.

my eldest also in one mrsm igcse, now form2. i have to pay for checkpoint exam this year (around 600) and when he in form 4, i will have to pay igcse fees as well. we also paid for his external modules/tuition during school breaks, around 700 to 1000 per week/module.

so far this is the tongkatness i utilized. asb not so much cost now no money paying kids schools. house discount didnt't get because my house is not a bumi lot. spm also i paid the fees coz my parents can pay. job also at private company. only my wife work with gomen and the only reason is that her specialty is in emergency and trauma which no private hospital willing to hire, not lucrative at all. otherwise sudah lama she run to private hospital.

What is the advantage of igcse over spm?

Can drop out after finish IGCSE paper in Form 4? When results release in December?
And Apply to College at the age of 17?

Whereas all your SPM counterparts need to wait until 18 to apply?

My daughter is in IGCSE MRSM, just took her Check Point exam last year...now in Form 3. Those wonder what is this MRSM is actually.... this MRSM took a little bit different approach in learning where most subject are taught in English. They have 2 exams came from Cambridge.... one in Form 2 called Check Point & another one in Form 4.

Yes it is expensive considering the papers are from Cambridge and the total payment are not fixed depending on the currency exchange that time. Many parents, they dont have enough infos on this....they just think they are proud if childern are selected to study here..... without knowing the way the education is delivered & amount of fees.

My experience, those children with just passed their UPSR "ngam2 atas pagar" especially english & math, they will struggle here.....

Fun fact in Brunei their IGCSE and O Level, until A Level are subsidized fee from their MOE. not sure got quota contract or what. Heard examinations are free there laugh.gif except private candidate's who resits.

If only we can abolish Lembaga Peperiksaan and MPM without people calling protect. We can still make our own syllabus with Cambridge Assessment like Singapore
