I have renewed my car insurance but not yet renew the road tax.

Can I know is there any grace period given in my situation for renewing road tax at a later date (1 day after the road tax expire date) without any penalty?

You can renew road tax any time. Even after expiry date. There is no penalty for that but only summon if you drive your car with expired road tax.

I don't think so either. If not mistaken, if you did not renew your driving license for more than a year (not sure 1 year or 2 years), you need to go to sit for driving test again. That's all. No penalty.

Even if you did not renew your car insurance, no penalty. I believe that when you renew your road tax, it will follow the date of renewal, not expired date. If not why need to pay for no driving/usage period like when you are out of country for a long period. If you renew earlier, it will continue from the expiry date.

If your insurance is already renewed and the road tax is renewed long after expiry, then your insurance period will not be in sync with your road tax period anymore. Most people will not like to be in this situation. Have to do things twice. However, nowadays everything can be done online.

U have 1 year to renew a road tax upon expiry. Beyond that the car need a Puspakom inspection.

Yes, it is just 1 day late so I think I still can do it on this Sunday in UTC coz my roadt ax expire on 12/1/2019 (this Saturday).

this is abit late, but its 1 week after the date the insurance start. else you can only buy 6 month and not the complete year..
i kena once, had to pay insurance to extend few weeks to be able to buy the 1 year...

No need to bring, just remember your car plate number and renew your insurance first then you can renew your road tax.

Nope, u can renew road tax any time as long as insurance already renewed, however the road tax will start from the same date as insurance date.

True as long as you have enough days in the insurance, that is a min of 6 months active insurance. Their system cant backdate more than a week to match the end of your insurance date..

It seems is more than 3 years then only need to go PUSPAKOM for inspection. If between 1-3 years then cn go directly yo JPJ office to apply for special exception and get road tax renewed.

Puspakom inspection impossible without remove tinted windscreen. I find 5 runners before. One told me to slip money in. Quite a lot.

Been told that puspakom inspection impossible to pass unless remove old tint. Called up JPJ & they informed inspection cn be done at JPJ for free but need to hv active insurance & special permit form to drive vehicle to JPJ branch for inspection purpose.

What do you mean by dead road tax?

If the road tax already expired but you do not drive the car on the road then it is fine. When you want to use the car then buy insurance and renew the road tax. This is what I was informed by those uncle in kopitiam but the insurance agents will ask you to renew the car insurance and the road tax.

seem like i don't have other choices other than remove the existing tint. how much is the cost for normal tint? i don't need branded tint, just normal tint will do.

U got 7 days period to renew your roadtax after your insurance active. Wait more than this, u kena extend your insurance.

Yes, need to buy motor insurance first then can renew road tax.

No need bring hardcopy to UTC. Once you have renew online (via the link provided), the insurance record already reflect on JPJ system immediately, so you can renew your road tax with any JPJ.

Hi.. my roadtax expired 3 months back. i have renewed my car insurance but totally forgot if I renew the roadtax or not. My car needed a repair that time and I didnt use it at all. Is there any way to check validity of roadtax? What can I do to sync insurance and roadtax?
