No. Your battery size OUGHT to be NS40ZL.
What you have stated is the battery specification. 😊

It depends very much on the available space and the alternator of each car.

Anyway, I would presume your battery size is the standard NS40ZL and yes you can change the specification, the prices would vary according to the battery specification. The higher specification, the more power it has, the higher the price, the longer its lifespan.

The highest specification that you can go for is the 60B20L that is for battery size M-42 ie EFB Battery.

It's because it is more profitable for car manufacturers to produce cars with smaller batteries, the sizes of batteries are shrinking like our currency. 😭

The smallest battery specification at the moment is 35B15L from my Principal Co. competitors, if I am not mistaken. 😱 Since most end users believe that batteries last only 1 year, so I guess car manufacturers are taking advantage of that perception.

Your welcome. I think one should be able to find the battery size information in the manual provided.

Rule of thumb, follow :
i) same specification as battery provided by car manufacturer OR
ii) upgrade to higher specification battery that is allowable BUT
iii) NEVER downgrade to a lower specification battery as that would definately void the provided battery's warranty.

Irregardless of whatever is said, ask the Service Center to conduct a Battery Conductance and Electrical Charging Systems Test on your battery and vehicle respectively. And make sure you get a copy of the printed test result, if you want a 2nd opinion. If you are in Melaka, I can help you out. 😊

BTW, what is your car make and model ?

Hi, would like to ask sifu here whether it's safe to disconnect battery from my car for one month. Will the electronic settings go haywire? Planning to leave my car at the workplace during lockdown. My car is Proton Persona.

Just curious - why cant you leave your car at your own home instead?
If it were me , I would charge it every 1 week, with external charger. Just to make sure its fully charged and readily to use, when I need to use the car.
Thats me. So that it doesn't go down below 12.4V.

But to answer your initial question: Yes you can safely disconnect the car battery (if yours is the non CVT type), but the battery will still self discharge the voltage, even without anything plugged in.

The parking space full at my rented house. My workplace got covered parking. Also I prefer to use my motorcycle for short travel.
What do you mean by non-CVT? My Persona is CVT type. That means I cannot disconnect the battery otherwise the electronic settings will need to be reset later?

Can anyone else clarify on this? I only got few hours left before I decide whether to disconnect the battery or not? Any help is appreciated notworthy.gif

no, it won't do anything harmful to your engine, gb, or electronics. it just worst reset back your preset fm station etc. and reset the ECU for instance. Back then, some old mechanics love to teach users to open battery cables for 1-2 hours so it reset the ECU things.

so next after reset, it will relearn your driving pattern, etc. This may results in a better FC by doing this.
