Hahahahaha thanks for the comment Noobboyz, and yes I did feel kinda lala doing stuff to my RG, and yes due to pollution issue and sound, the RG or for all 2 stroke engine type bikes are getting less popular. But my goodness... Nothing gives me the chills and raw power like the 2 stroke does. wink.gif

And on regards of the death of 2 T, there are EFI kits in the US that Reduce two stroke carbon emission and improving FC, in some test the 2T already surpasses the 4T engine in all aspects, eg. Output, simplicity, emission, FC.

But it's gonna cost a bomb for an underbone RG, more than the bike.

I'm gonna try penzoil fully sintetic When my bike is back, thanks.

And so when it come to long distance at high speed... No doubt that the jet cooling system of the RG engine is never gonna be sufficient. Was thinking of adding a radiator fin with copper piping brazed to the RGV block and head, water transfer will be by thermosiphon. Not sure if it would help much... Anyone with ideas on this?

The total dmg thus far is
Bike : 1800
1st mod : 1500
2nd mod : 2100
Total : 5400
Haha almost the price of a new Modenas Dinamik... But hey, I'm addicted to my RG.

Lastly, the speedometer setting for motorcycles of all sorts always have different setting, what I did before was to compare motor meters to car meters instead (will try GPS later) so what I did was I lined up with a friends car. Here are the results,

RG meter 100 / Mercedes meter 80
RG meter 100 / Kelisa meter 80
RG meter 80 / Honda civic meter 60
RG meter 100 / FX 125 meter 100

Btw, Noobboyz what is ur doubts on faito bearings? I too have heard many ppl saying faito bearings are not reliable, but so far none tell me why they think so...

Hi, anyone can tell where I can get RG used original parts near Klang Valley? Or JB area?

My yr 1994 RG have 2T leaking problem. I was adviced by motorbike shop owner to change 2T pump. China made not recommended, new original one very expensive but no warranty. Im now looking for used original 2T pump, prefer with installation included.
Looking for speedo meter set too.

Please help.
Thanks

Hi. I just starting restore my yr1994 RG sports. Now in running condition. Still have a lot of things to repair/change like cover, battery, fork, 2T pump, speedo meter set, signal lamp etc.

Some questions here:

Anyone still keeping the Manual of this bike? Can share?
How often should we change the engine oil? 3kkm, 5kkm?
Where can we get the used parts? Like meters?
What is the maximum tyre size can fit into the rear wheel? Im using 80/90, I checked and measured, 90/80 should be no problem. Just thinking of 100/xx series.

Thanks.

i still hv the manual, but need to find first  biggrin.gif

my rg also is 1994 WEA.

recently met with accident, so they change all the cover and head to rgv

i still like the RG head, looks more robotic .. Daf punk liddat...

Suzuki is not very popular in underbone nowadays, but we still can see RG/RGV on the road after more than 20 years.
WEA should be yr1995 right? My mileage is around 230kkm. Overhaul 2 times and clutch changed once. Mostly standard, but I use smaller rear sprocket, I think 34 or 36.

rclxm9.gif u still keep the Manual. Really respect! Can share the whole book here?

Just ride to jalan jalan. After tightened the cover, the bike become more solid, less noise.
Good for 80-100kph ride, but corner not so stable.
Still studying the wider size tyre to fit. Good looking and bigger bike riding feel. rclxms.gif

Thank you for the sharing.
Yes I changed the bush long time ago, maybe have to check again. Mono-shock still original, quite hard.

I have been using my RG for 3-4 months after I started to restore it.
Currently I have spent around RM400 for the repair/restore, including, spark plug, service brake, choke cable, left handle switch, horn, seat cover, meter cover, front signal cover, wiring, battery, side mirror, rear lamp set, brake switch, rear tyre etc.
I was quoted around RM200 for 2T pump. I did not change it, no budget and leaking is still acceptable.
Mostly ride on weekend.
Places I visited include Kuala Kubu Bahru, Bentong, Kuala Selangor, Ijok, Bestari Jaya, Bagan lalang, Tanjung Malim..
Now skill improve a lot from 3-4 months ago, after stop riding for 2 years. rclxm9.gif
Fuel consumption I recorded is aroung 26-32km/Litre. Not easy to get more than 32km/L unless with 80-100kph on straight highway. Im using 36-size rear sprocket. Max speed I can get is around 130kph which is 113kph on GPS.
2T consumption around 1L/800km.
I think it is time to clean the exhaust for better power.

the rg old meter & rpm meter you all still can find at racing boy shop ~ just the magnet coil , meter cable, new meter. all the parts still available in original & racing type.
engine oil just change at 3000km or more , coz usually 2t is more important to them.
at least fc grade is better. im less using it so around 5k km change engine oil. but 2t is using good fc/fd grade.
usually bike no power may be is clutch plate depleted coz of long time running or not in good condition, exhaust less problem with clogged up with carbon, especially for power issue.
recently just change the absorber & meter coz rosak at fuel meter only. rm180 for absorber & less than rm100 for single meter no rpm version,& chamber open type rm180.
will install racing clutch plate(6 plate version racing) & spring for better pick up. & aluminium rims for better acceleration(more lighter)
fc acceptable no modi on engine, block, carburetor, at least 250 km / tank with >=rm5.00++, 2t fd 28++forgot the exactly price, engine oil rm 35+++, gear ratio 14/36, top speed around 145kmh without efford, tyre 80/90 ft & 90/90 rr with sport rims (quite big & heavy), will change to 80/90 is more suitable for daily use.

last old time buy it for rm1800. this is a good bike, very durable no problem all the time, just wear&tear maintenance only. the look still fashionable & practical. i also got one rgv120cc which now in heavy mod, top speed is 220kmh, fc 200km++/tank, cost used is rm2000 only. all original custom parts, outside looks normal original & internal just damn monster looks a like, now just parking at home for enjoy cuti mata only. good.

For the meter, I think last time I can get around RM55-65 without RPM. I can change the meter myself. What should I do if the oil gauge not stable like fluctuating.
For 2T, Im using Castrol grade FD, RM22++.
I never changed mono-shock. Found that tyre pressure is very important, I set to around 30-32 psi or less.
80/90 for front tyre is good for me, any good tyre for it? Price should not be a problem because front tyre can last much longer. Now looking for 100/80 for the rear. Planning to mod the swing arm a bit too.
Fuel consumption. full tank is 5.2L, if you can get 250km, which is around 50km/L. Consider very, very good, better than LC135. I'm doing 25-28km/L now.
Any recommendation for standard mod? Like 5-10kph increase?

1 thing I discover recently is that the seat of RG is very good: low position, soft, long and wide. a lot better than Yamaha and Honda.
