when using synethic engine oil must check the engine oil frequently...

came back to kl this morning. was unpacking stuff then while walking to the lift remembered there was this driver in front kept adjusting his wing mirror at the traffic light. so i looked if theres anything wrong with my car at the front.

one bird went suicide and got its head twisted and stucked to the vent holes. all the way didnt notice any bird flew into my path at all.

see how lo, coz i memang need to check the oil level every week one

well, i never ever use full synthetic engine oil b4 thus not knowing its charactheristics...

by frequenly checking it, what should we observe? something similar to mineral oil?

That has nothing to do with the synthetic. That's due to fake oil. Since I don't have the full story as all I heard was one day got oil another day don't have and never hear him mention about engine oil pressure warning light coming up, there can only be 2 reason.

1) SC forgot to actually put fresh engine oil inside. Did I hear correctly that the mentioned it happened after his service?
2) Oil drain plug or some other major seal like crankshaft seal had a major leak, causing him to lose all the engine oil without warning.
3) Fake engine oil will evaporate faster but it will still take weeks to evaporate that much engine oil to end up damaging his engine.

Well.. we can all sit here and speculate but there is one thing we can take out of the equation. The damage to his engine has nothing to do with using fully synthetic engine oil.

Erm, i serviced my car back in February before CNY. I'm sure they did the engine oil changed coz the SC (Weststar) isnt a big one so i can basically watch them doing the oil changed. It happen during 1st of April, April fool it is. Doing about 7000~8000km and i hear the engine kocking sound on the way to SC from KKB which is about 70km distance. So i guess i did quite a damage from travelling for that distance with low engine oil. And surprisingly, the oil preassure indicator light only came on when i reach the SC. Fake engine oil from Honda OEM by idemitsu?

hmm... i'm using semi-synthetic for my City from the same service centre that Gouki frequents, so far no problem (touch wood)

my car is using fully synthetic as well and no problems at all, the dipstick is still showing the oil level at full but due for servicing soon i guess but probably revert to semi-synthetic since the tappet sound is getting rather annoying

i thought you solved your tappet noise last time already? O.o

he might need something less 'kao' for the oil to flow into the hydraulic thingy

wah seh.. was on the way back from the curve, not sure on the way whereabouts did i accidently hit the switch for the under-car lights.. reached home and saw the lights on.. deng! so i guess i became some sorta ah-beng just now .. that's the reason why i removed the daym fuse in the first place >.< better remove it tmr!
