With well hidden wiring job being done, its as good as the wireless module from clifford just for 1 purpose, delay the time of the theft. Normally, a pro car theft wont waste that much of time to steal a time consuming car with decent alarm like IES and security tint. Oh, make sure your alarm siren connect to your air-horn too. Alarm siren and air-horn go off together is hell of a noise which is enough to attract anyone around to look at your car and make the thieves go away.

Well, if Aaron wants to protect himself from somebody armed with a baseball bat, then the security tint is okay. It won't help again a screwdriver. It takes 2 seconds to shatter the tampered glass (those who knows how tampered glass works will understand) and the security film is now holding on to a very 'lembik' sheet of glass. They just have to roll it off the door. So there's no point in installing it if you want protection from car theft.

Yes, my car was broken into (again) with this tactic using the screwdriver. It ruined the rubber as well. Nobody uses a baseball bat or a brick anymore.

automotive security tints differ from the standard tints by its thickness (measured in mils). due to the increased thickness of the film, it can withstand a higher load but it is still 'breakable' as long as the force applied is beyond its limit. as mentioned by Awan Afuqya & sleepwalker, the security tint can be easily defeated by applying a heavy force onto a single small area. this is purely based on the laws of physics.

security tints can be dyed (or mixed with certain metallic composite) to give it a colour. its basically the same as the standard automotive tint just that it is much thicker.
