Hi everyone. I am GrabAlpha (recruiter), all the info below are basic knowledge of how to be a GrabDriver.

Grab (formerly known as GrabTaxi) is a technology company that offers wide range of ride-hailing and logistics services through its app in Southeast Asia, specifically in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. As of July 2016, the number of drivers registered in the network was over 350,000, and the Grab app was downloaded onto more than 19 million mobile devices across Southeast Asia.

Ensure that you have taken picture of your IC, ehailing PSV License, your personal face picture, and Latest Car Insurance Policy (your name must be stated in the policy) for upload purpose.
Or
Sign up with GrabAlpha (specialise on recruiting new driver. Does not need to go to GC centre for activation) (usually training will be provided in whatsapp group)

Driver rules of conduct, How to use the driver apps, Driver manual, online training will be given once registered.

Driver Eligibility
-21 years old or above
-Full Malaysian license (no ‘P’) + Malaysian IC
-Car manufacturing year 2012 or newer, minimum Myvi/Axia (economy)
-Ehailing PSV License (Go for ehailing PSV class at driving school (1 day), book for exam (1 hour 60 questions), then apply Ehailing PSV license from JPJ office after exam exam (within 10 mins).

There are 3 types of payment from customer:
1. Cash (collect cash from passenger)
2. Grabpay (credit card payment, Grab will topup the amount to your cash wallet in driver apps. If got passby toll then add the toll amount when drop off passenger in the driver apps. All the amount will topup in cash wallet so do not collect cash from passenger)
3. PROMO (All PROMO amount will go to your cash wallet too. It is discount given to passenger. If the fare is RM10 cash and promo RM5 then only collect RM5 from passenger. Another RM5 will pay by Grab to your cash wallet)


Payment Process
Weekly Payment Cycle: Mon 12:00 am – Sun 11.59 pm

Incentive Payout: Times Booster bonus directly top up to your cash wallet. Other incentive payout usually on second working day after the end of Incentive time period.

Transfer from Cash Wallet to Bank Account : within one or second working day (For Maybank), within 2 working day (For non-Maybank)

- You might get second trip request even you have not drop off the first trip passenger. Just accept it and Grab will inform second trip passenger you are dropping off the first trip passenger. The second trip pick up location usually are very near or same location with the first trip drop off location.

- You might get 2 matched trips at the same time. Both trips passengers want to go same direction or same drop off location. So 2 passengers are only allowed on each trip. It will be either 1+1, 1+2 or 2+2 passengers.

GrabAlpha
- It is selected by GC for recruiting new driver in easier way.

Grab AllStar

Grab Ambassador (Not available anymore)
- Opt in Grab Ambassador to get 20% commission deduction.
- Cannot have competitor driver app in your mobile phone.

Grab Associate (Not available anymore)
- 25% commission deduction.

- Acceptance rate at least 80%.
- Rating 4.7 or above.
- Good for full time drivers who want to maximize income.

Grab-Flexi Incentive Programme (The below requirement no longer effective. All new driver will get Grab Flexi incentive provided fulfill the requirement stated in your driver apps)
- RM5 minimum fare guarantee.
- RM6 minimum fare guarantee if achieve 50 trips per week.
- Other incentive (check from the website or driver apps)
- It is created for drivers who do not want to opt for hour guarantee incentive.

Grab-Pro (no longer available since 9th Oct 2017)
- Acceptance rate need at least 88%.
- Hour guarantee incentives.
- For drivers who have competitor driver apps.

Platinium Partner (no longer available)
- Priority Allocation as reward.
- Useful for full-time driver.
- Can get ping easily I believe.
- Enjoy Grab Auto benefits up to 50% (normal 30%)

Grab Ka-ching (no longer available)
- Purchase more credits with lower price.
- Good for full time driver.

Grab Hitch (no longer available) (removed on June 2017-before Hari Raya)
- Good for inter-state trip. Example Penang to KL.
- Able to get passengers from whole Malaysia.
- No need to pay commission to Grab.
- Toll bear by driver.

GrabFleet (no longer available from Septemper 2017)
- GrabFleet was created to increase the quantity of full time drivers in the market.
- It is only for full time driver.
- There is target base on the fleet. Most of the fleet require driver to work 60 hours and complete 105 trips per week.

FAQ

1. What if customer insist do not want to pay toll?
You can report in your driver apps and claim back the money. Grab Driver app > Support > Help Centre > report past trip.

2. What if I receive a job and require me to pass by toll before I pick up the passenger?
Just report the past trip like above.

3. What if I reach the drop off location and passenger run away without paying?
Just report the past trip like above.

4. What if customer does not appear after I reach the pick up location?
Wait 5 mins, if no show then press cancel and select "Passenger no show", you will get RM3 compensation and it wont affect your cancellation rate.

EVP

How to apply EVP from APAD?
You do not need to apply EVP yourself. As long as your PSV license and insurance covernote still remain update/activate in your Grab Driver account before the expiry date of EVP, Grab will auto update EVP for you without any request.

Stopped by traffic police in Persiaran Surian 30 minutes ago....they caught me speaking on the phone with customer.I apologized and told him i am grab driver,show him the apps and he smiled and let me go.

P/s : btw i saw most them hold a handheld device,probably linked to cctv or something coz i spoke on the phone 200-300m away from roadblock

That handheld is their machine for issuing summon on the spot, last time need to write down and now just key in your IC and kesalahan, then print out on the spot.

I just kena one at Eco city on wednesday night, illegal turn left for shortcut going to eco city bridge. When goes up and saw them tahan, kantoi already, they are waiting at top and behind got 3 cars behind me kena also. Luckily the polis change kesalahan to abai isyarat, penalty of RM150, if kena double lane then it is RM300.

Nowadays better watch out for cut queue at line box, i saw one car kena at Jalan 222 junction few weeks ago. Even MV heading towards Salak highway, if turn right to OKR, polis also saman because of double lane.

This few weekdays about gross 30-35 per hour

SD will have lower priority as i observe, i also set SD back to subang and eat telur. Now at off peak hour, i just online without AA, see got luck to get job nearby there or not.

Serdang area 7am-9am just ronda around pinggiran putra if u wanna get jerung but be prepare to get foreigners to utc sentul or xxx ambassy near jalan ampang, sometime kena putrajaya or cyberjaya kembung.

Thanks for the advice. Usually i avoid far destination cause need enter office before 10 am. Often kena jerung balik kosong due cannot stay long wait for MD. Anyway UPM students sem break for a month. There goes saturdays night's easy money haha

but the pickup is very near from what i've experienced

the case at Penang, according to JPJ explanation is driver is not allow to camp at arrival lane as it will cause congestion.

There was queue system for KLIA/2 even before the airport designated Landside as waiting area for drivers.

Grab's weekend morning fare is really something else.

I ignored one request from Sungai Chua going to McDonald's Danau Kota RM33 for 33km.

But before that I scored one ping from Batu 9 Cheras going to MRT Bukit Dukung RM6 for 1km only 🤣 The trip should've been 4km but the rider asked me to drop him off at the back entrance 😎

Today another lousy day, super hot weather, low fare plus low ping, 0 bonus. What happen lah?? petrol price go down all decided drive sendiri kah?? If continue like this no point taking the psv ady, i'll quit by 30-06-2019.

Airport players don't count how much they make per hour.

Their game is a totally different ball altogether.

And yes, for some reason today is quite a lousy day, at least for the both of us. I don't think it has to do with the drop in petrol price because there aren't that many cars on the road either. Maybe many have depleted their funds due to end of year/new year holidays and whatnots.

My experience was different.
I started at 4:30pm. Ping non-stop (b2b on). Traffic was smooth even at Jalan Imbi & Jalan Bukit Bintang.
All but one short trip had no bonus, but this was expected.

These few days weather very bad. Everyone takes care of your health.

After 7th get ready for more small change

Confirm sure flooded with more RM100 notes

The low demand since 2019 started maybe caused by the unlimited Rapid pass for RM100.People are shifting to public transport instead of using Grab

Just follow simple calculation below (assuming Point A to KLIA trip took 1 hours in average and KLIA to Point B also took 1 hour):

Waiting time 1 hours: (RM65+RM65)/3 = gross RMXX per hours
Waiting time 2 hours: (RM65+RM65)/4 = gross RMXX per hours
Waiting time 3 hours: (RM65+RM65)/5 = gross RMXX per hours etc

Compare this figure with your average non klia collection per hours.

This data should help you to decide whether you should cancel or accept the KLIA trip in future.

If calculated like this macam make sensed but 2hrs waiting doing nothing I kanot tahan. Since drive grab so far ive never reject any klia trip but neither wait and pick from airport yet becoz my home <= 40km from klia, I always go to cyberjaya through kota warisan after dropoff. Kanvas soho a&w my favourite rest point if early, if night I straight fly home through mex.

Tak berapa nak rajin this week. Slow ping. Fares macam pundek.

LOL I also very rarely wait for pings after I drop off riders at KLIA, because my house is in Putrajaya.

I don't mind going back home empty but more often than not, there are some small ponds for me to fish all the way back home 😁

i suspect the TBB now is being manipulate by crap...

while grabbing this morning,my car has been knocked from the back by a honda city.i went down to examine the damage,since the exterior of my car is fine and the car owner apologized,I just let her go.

now I realized my car reverse sensor has been damaged.all I have is her plate number(I foolishly didnt take her phone number).based on plate number,am I able to track her down to ask for compensation?

pick up at puncak Banyan condo going to LRT tasik selatan. this stretch is well know for the congestion due to construction of the highway.... last time can accept as got incentive...

Since minor knock, maybe just disconnected inside leh?? Apa car?? if proton or perodua no cat around rm40 with cat around rm70 labour rm30, can find baybrothers car acc behind pj hilton. To obtain driver info, think can go jpj but need to pay rm10 to print out. Last time i kena banged behind, the makat shop only assembled back the outlook only since limited budget, actually 1 side reverse sensor no sound ady, i just leave it depends on side mirror when reversing.
