Our 20% pay like this service?
*
No, your 20% pay for the privilege of earning money through Grab app, for Grab to become your salesman/middle man between you and your rider, for all the Grab coupons when fewer people are booking rides.

Your 20% is too good for Grab? Please abandon Grab and become MyCar/DiffRide/Etc, I heard they take much smaller commission. biggrin.gif

They wasted too much resources on their useless staff, most of them can't do work one or not in power to do anything, please fire half of your grab staff ty.

Yeah unfortunately it’s the same problem in most if not all call centres in Malaysia. I’m pretty sure most call centres in the world too, because I believe no one grew up aspiring to be the best call center agent in the world.

But yeah, Malaysia. Call centers here are usually for people who can’t make it in their original field of study, fresh grads that wants money for looking for the job they want, or just generally people who are unhirable elsewhere.

They are paid monthly and monitored by attendance plus number of calls they take a day. Yes they get shit on for having less than perfect customer satisfaction rating, but company will keep them and fire the one that mc half the month all the time. So they are rewarded for productivity and for showing up. So they just take your call, follow SOP, don’t need to waste time going extra mile for anything because they still get the same salary amount even if they solve all your crisis.

Point is, very few customer service call center agent takes pride in what they do, due to personal or company circumstances. You can’t beat a dead horse into walking another mile. Either keep calling to get a different agent or just go social media.

Just a cull of drivers that don’t have what it takes to be successful in this field

I drive AA 100% of the time, I fetch people from all walks of life, going to places I’ve never been to before in my life. I’ve met the stereotypical demanding customers, even though I pray to whichever deity of the day that, please bless me with good mannared customers the entire day. But that’s statistically impossible, and yet, I’ve never been reported as rude or bad attitude once.

I’m no saint too, if I arrive at PUP and see passenger that I don’t want to fetch because they look like Jabba the Hut, I’ll just smile and explain I need to cancel because I got a stomach ache, so sorry and have a good day. And move on to next ride.

Point is, as a ehailing driver, you are handling customer, delivering them from one spot to another. If you think you don’t even need basic customer service skill to drive Grab (eg: don’t agitate an already agitated customer), I got bad news for you bro. You will be better off applying to work at lazada warehouse. The boxes won’t report you if you kick it a few times because they are too heavy to lift.

Just don’t get caught by cctv or smartphone recordings biggrin.gif

Preach brother.

I was an Uber driver before I jumped ship to Grab, and the difference between the way both CS handle their drivers queries/issues is like day and night.

Incomparable.
*
I interviewed for their data analyst job before, so I know how they pick their staff

3 phone interviews, 2 tests, then group interview at a bar (meaning, all the candidates that passed so far, all go to the bar at same time to meet and greet all the Uber Malaysia staff)

Whoever passed that, goes on to more interview and test. I didn’t pass biggrin.gif

Also, whoever gets hired, gets equity. Not just salary, but a share in the company. So they hire great people.

At the same time, because of the perks they are able to give, they can also be cut throat.

Seriously, if you can find any ex Uber CS staff, they will tell you it’s super stressed to work there, and all the shenanigans that goes on in the office.

You are looking at it from the wrong perspective

Isn't ikan bilis fare is what you all complain most about? RM5 during peak period?

So after this, with x2 cap, ikan bilisses will become RM10, which is great news all around isn't it? biggrin.gif

Driving sunday afternoon really let me feel the weary of being a grab. Under super hot sun the fares are barely like rm1.10 per km. The conclusions is : "supply more than demand" ratio increases significantly week by week. Look likes grabbers who ready to quit after 12 july are pressing throttle to gain as much as possible before the d day.

can is ask, during non peak hour, do u guys accept RM5 trip ? Say in sri petaling area. there are plenty drivers there even at non peak hour, like now..
*
Majority drivers here will never accept RM5 regardless of the hours. Either on AA cancel outright or play tricks so rider cancel, or Manual Accept to filter away

I accept all fares regardless of the hours. I never got any PUP further than 2km for RM5 fare ever, and total distance never exceeded 5km. So I don’t know how people can get super far PUP for RM5, maybe it’s the phone - I’m using iPhone so maybe it’s got better GPS latency, so no random super out of the way PUP ever.

I believe taking RM5 and move around is better than sitting still waiting for big fare. Statistically it will all even out - eventually everyone will have its fair share of big and small fare. So I don’t nitpick or cancel unless it’s my mistake (eg: driving high speed then ping comes in, but I missed the junction and it’s gonna be too far to PUP for next turn).

well crap playing field is like that. In crap world, ikan bilis market also need to support by crap. You r right to say, RM5 better than waiting for nothing. However, do you know that these RM5 fare is a filter rubbish by all taxi crap and eventually drop to you? There will be time, you cant totally ignore RM5 due to maintain 30% acceptance rate. Some will say, everyday eat ikan paus also you will jemu, once in awhile ikan bilis will help your stomach getting too bloated...haha. Sarcastically, i'm someone who will ignore RM5 fare especially those paid by crap pay and somemore with promo code. To me, these kind riders are cheapskate and high possibility you get 1 star if you ever say a wrong word. short story, i dont entertain them. I look for RM8 at least.... brows.gif
*
Precisely. If you have a group of taxi drivers near you, they get priority ping, then filter RM5 so those small fares go to you, sitting still at your spot will not improve your chance of big fare biggrin.gif

I love the momentum of driving AA B2B. Big fare, small fare, I sapu. I believe all my odds are better if I’m always on the move. Driving out at 8am, by 4pm I’ll get RM300 gross. Worst also at least got RM200.

Yeah yeah I know sure got HG drivers from ancient time say wah gross 300 in 8 hours not as good as last time leh. So go find your jobs and flip your burgers, or become activist to improve ehailing industry, instead of just whining what most people already know

So I took a ride yesterday, I’m a passenger now.

So now I need to become a driver in order to share my long winded post?

Sure, I’ll join today and start driving. I’ve been thinking about taking advantage of post-regulation driver shortage anyway, now should be as good a time to start

so what is your opinion and feedback so far?

TBH AA cannot be use all the time lah, especially off peak hour. RM0.40 per minute doesn't make a difference either u on AA or non-AA.
*
My opinion and feedback remains the same: drivers that choose to stay after regulation will have easier time to make more money, simply because, got a lot current drivers not willing to go through regulation, or just simply can't.

I'm sad to read in this thread that, to some of you, the biggest hurdle is the PSV test. Never for once I thought literacy will be the road block.

I assumed most drivers will drop out because they can't fork out the money for insurance, etc. I'm really sorry to those having to take the tests so many times.

As for AA, well, it really depends on your risk tolerance and understanding of statistic. You can't always get what you want. So to me, the "trick" is understand and accept that, some days, the luck is really shit, and I get stuck in traffic during ride for RM5 job. I'll make sure to complain to Grab the fare is low, and get something back in form of TBB.

But overall, it all evens out. Just like putting money into stock market. Most drivers here behave like day traders. Market volatile a bit, will run around screaming it's the end of the world.

So if you are the type that can't accept the idea that not every day is perfect, yeah, better to just filter away RM5 jobs at peak hour. Don't have to waste energy worrying or thinking about it.

What's your plan after July 12? Any leads on job or business yet?

I guess it won't be surprising after July 12 suddenly got a lot new burger stalls competing for business biggrin.gif

Go read the terms & condition of the time booster, at the bottom it is written "All decisions made by Grab are final and binding. Grab shall not entertain any requests or appeals by Driver-Partners."

https://www.grab.com/my/blog/driver/terms-a...s-klang-valley/

Insurance is just about RM100-250 as i'm seen, mainly proton or perodua car. Since loke has remove the hurdle of vehicle status, i think the major 3 left are medical check up, puspakom check and PSV. PSV might take about 1.5 day for part timer. The rest can be done at weekend. I applaud this move because it really remove some hassle for visiting JPJ office.

I still cannot fully accept their TB system, but i hope they will able to be flexible on the compensation. At some bad day, i earn about nett RM0.40-0.45 per min or lower, normal time is about RM0.50-0.55 per minute. (For MP and UP slot)
*
This link is to the post in this thread showing another driver other than me getting compensated for low TBB

https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=92216492

The so called "complain" is feedback for trip, select "fare too low". Not calling to their CS and scold them. biggrin.gif If enough drivers do this, they will review to see if you are earning less than the projected amount for the trip

Someone will come up with burger2u app and link up with these burger stalls

It’s like Grab Food, but only for burgers

Options are

1) doorstep delivery, you have to pay delivery fee on top of burger price la

2) order and pay through app, then go to stall to collect

Not limited to actual burger stall owners. Any Grab driver that don’t want to drive at night, can also sign up and flip burger at home, so either delivery guy or customer will come collect from you.

Lol sorry out of topic adi my bad
